Bell’uomo nodded to her saying she’d keep it in mind. Then the small cute thing asked what kind of information is most valuable to him. He’d of thought that would be obvious, but he’d give her a list. He chuckled and said, “My most valued information would be on the assassin who took out my family. Naturally, once I have collected enough I will make an eye for an eye, if possible.” He let a more sinister smirk come across his face as he said, “Other information I hold just about as high is information on new families. I like to watch them, seeing as the older families are all old hat. Can’t teach an old dog new tricks.” He lost the smirk but the sinister look turned stern.

He looked at the small woman and took the yawn as a sign of what that form held. He picked up his breifcase and set it onto his lap. He pulled it open only an inch and slid out a blank sheet of paper and a pen. He proceeded to write down a phone number and folded the paper in half. He then handed it to her and said, “Favors are always granted, even if it means talking with my own assassin.” He gave a firm smirk and chuckled a bit. “Any information is liked but I will say, I only trade it evenly. Based on it’s worth to the receiver, that is. I like using a 0-10 ranking system. You give me information and I tell you it’s a five, I will hand you information of equal value to you or vice versa.” He then sighed and said, “Just don’t call today or between 5am and 10am tomorrow. Alright?” He let his smirk leave his face as the case was shut and placed down next to his leg.

He chuckled at her joke and then listened to her reasoning for why he shouldn’t talk to her. Not talk, but at least ask questions. He had an immediate and simple answer, “I search any and all avenues for information. This makes sure that all information is accurate. Besides, as long as I know a face if I come across a liar they tend to not last very long. Do you know the one bank right down from the emissary? It has a weird blue roof. Either way, they made a twist to the policy due to a loop hole and let’s just say I had it fixed.” He smiled at her and then said, “Don’t take that as a threat, I am sure one such as yourself knows better than to screw over a top dog.” He looked out the window as a plane came in. Wasn’t his, but it was pretty. “So what reason do I have not to trust you? And don’t use ‘mist’ as your answer.”

Tenebrae decided to wait no longer and begin making her way through the prison, hesitation could possibly be the death of her. She made sure to keep vigilant, her eyes looking everywhere as she strode through the halls. She felt her knee pull on a string, her eyes going wide as she heard things move around her. A series of blades swung down in front and behind her, her back getting cut a bit from stepping back. She watched the blades and looked for a possible way to get past. The blades seemed to go in an order that if she could run at the right time, maybe she could make it. She prepared herself barely and when the opportunity arose, she sprinted. She felt the blades knocking her to the sides and cutting her a bit, but she powered through them, even grabbing and shoving some of them. She managed her way to the end of them, it had seemed endless but she had gotten out of it. Out of the corner of her eye, she saw someone in an outfit that seemed to be recognizable in outfit but not welcome. She saw him glance her direction, her getting down as low as possible to hide on the path she was currently on. She began to army crawl across it, leaving a slight trail of blood behind her. She peeked behind and saw the trail, using her finger to write in it, “They started it.”
She nodded at it and began crawling the rest of the way, only for her to be spotted and the room to slowly grow cold. Her bare skin with the burning flesh felt it and instead of keeping cover, lifted herself off the ground and began to run. She had no idea where she was going and kept tripping off traps of all sorts in her sprint to get away. She could feel the ice following her, ignoring the several hits she was taking from the traps as she barged through until she couldn’t feel the cold anymore in an off to the side hall. She felt the cold creeping up but she continued down the hall and seemed alright to keep going. She found a set down flamethrower, picking it up and figuring out how to heat the tip which resulted in a shot of flames. She used the tip to cauterize the wounds she had received as best as she could, even pulling her hair to the front to burn her back to take care of those wounds. She began to feel the cold growing again, looking down the hall she had came from and then turning to keep running, setting off a trap where the walls began moving in. She hoped that would slow him down. She made it to a four way intersection and looked to the left, one of the men were down in that direction and coming right for her and fast. She glanced right to see the walls closing in there too. She stared forward and saw a possibility of making it through those walls.
She started running to the forward direction and sprinted as fast as she could go. She felt something latch hold of her ankle, finding it was the new one in pursuit. She turned as swiftly as possible to untangle her ankle from his, getting free of him and continuing to run. The area around her began to chill, the metal walls beginning to stick and making a creaking sound. She decided to just keep on running, the pursuer hot on her trail and throwing ice shards at her. She took a couple hits and felt the cold burn, turning and aiming the flamethrower she had at him and firing. The flames spurt out and at least halted him, an area of the walls unfreezing and snapping to where they should be. She saw the guy try to get through but it was closing in on him too fast even with him refreezing it. She stared at him, even with the walls thawing around her and bound to snap shut. She thought that maybe if she helped, there could be a potential ally. She moved to the walls and placed her hands on the two sides, pressing them apart with all of her strength. She got them apart enough for him to get out, him unable to run out from his shin being split in half from his attempt to free himself. She rolled herself onto her back to push and used her bad hand to keep the walls from closing, pulling his arm with her good arm to slide him out. She pulled herself out from the walls, her bad hand just getting a bit more crushed. She used her good hand to help him up, him attempting to reject it by throwing black flames at her. She dodged and saw the tips of her hair begin to freeze, her firing the blowtorch at it to cut her hair off shorter.
“Look,” She spoke harsh and in a hurry as the walls were un-thawing, “I am saving your ass whether you like it or not.” She offered her hand again, “This is your last shot at living.” He seemed to have gotten the hint and took her hand, her making him hold at her waist. She placed her crumpled hand behind him and guided him out the rest of the way as he limped. As they made it to the end of the trap, it appeared that one of the others had found their way around. She looked at him and said, “Do what you will now, I don’t care.” She helped the limping one to a wall, her checking it for traps first before she leaned him there.
They let out a cold signal the third one finding his way to them. They spoke to each other as what was explained as her helping even though he attempted to kill her, them making the decision as one stood forward. “We will be sending you back to Outworld,” The one who stood before her would say, “But you must never return to Netherrealm under penalty of death.”
“Dude,” She looked at him with a smirk, “They started it.” They sighed and pushed her, her falling into her own realm. She landed on her brother’s lap, her eldest brother. She looked at him and said, “Oh hello, Venir Khan.”
This brother was about seven feet tall, smaller than her by a few feet. He wore a wreath of skulls and fingers that he had collected though in shock the string broke and the necklace fell to the floor. He had long white hair and modified ears to be slightly pointed. They had several silver hoops on them on both ears. The right side of his face and neck were etched with black tattoos, his shoulder bearing a tribal sun in the etchings. He also wore a black robe and seemed to have sleeker muscles than her. He glared at his youngest sibling as the guards all pointed their weapons to her. He lowered a hand to call them off as he saw the state of being she was in. His voice ran out smooth as black coffee with extra salt, “Ah sister, the darkest…”
“Not by skin,” She chuckled, his skin was tanner than hers.
He scowled at the comment and her insolence, but continued on his train of thought, “I couldn’t murder you as you are right now. Come, let me give you a place to heal.” His hands glowed green as his eyes emitted a soft tint, using a barrage of souls to toss her off of him and pin her to the wall. She slammed into it and let out a moan. He rose from his throne, walking to her as he spoke, “Does there suit you?”
She growled until she saw her ax fell into the realm, she forced her good hand out and the ax came to her as it lit up green and slammed into her hand. She forced herself off the wall, spinning it in her hand as she swung her ax at him. It landed a solid hit across his stomach, her turning and making a sprint for it as she knew the ways through her old home. She was surprised the guards weren’t following her until she got outside and saw an army. She gripped her ax hard and ran forward, slicing her ax back and forth as she tried to make her way through. They got some hits on her but they seemed to cause more damage to themselves as she barged through. She made it to the other side and just kept running to the brewery. She traversed her way there and made her way in, her people seeing her as well as her partner as she got in and laid down. She stared at the ceiling as she breathed heavily, “We are never going into that hell again…” She closed her eyes and let the pain sink in, her nanny Tarkata went to get things to heal her, pouring alcohol on her open wounds as she arched at it. She then felt her partner’s burning hands searing wounds shut. Others got wraps out of respect, or made them, wrapping her entire body except for her mask and hair, not caring to be careful as she enjoyed the pain.

Bell’uomo glanced down at the outburst and spoke in an apologetic tone, “Mi dispiace.” He listened to her reasoning behind respect and fear. As for her stating that it was out of her control and that it wasn’t her secret to tell, that peaked his interest once more. His thoughts focused on why and how, but he smirked a bit at the clubbing bit. He heard the question, his interest. He smirked a bit and said, “I am a man of information. If I do not know it or understand it, I find all of the information I can gather. If I run out of information, I track sources and question further. That is one of the main reasons my life was attempted on but it will not stop me from gathering what I can on everything.” He took a deep breath. “So with that in mind, what can you tell me?”

Tenebrae had continued her love fest with the multitudes of women she had procured in the village. She was enjoying herself thoroughly as she forced the women to do her bidding, grasping one another and groping each other. She eventually indulged herself by stripping herself into the full nude and used various severed limbs for odd pornographic and amorous activities. She’d gotten her peak a good few times before some jerk offs in ninja outfits decided to burst into the room. Her initial reaction was to gaze at the men who had broken in and gave them a nod. “Hey, we were just packing up, want a turn?”
A couple of them nodded their heads and went up to the pile. A couple were revolted and turned their backs. Then the rest noticed that her mask was that of a portion of Shao Khan’s mask, she was a Outworlder. One of them prepared to fight her and said, “She is an outworlder. Kill her.”
“Fuck me,” She pulled her pants on quickly and shoved her boots on, nabbing her ax and stepping on the first one closest to the window of the building and launching herself in a curled ball to roll out of the window. She then stood and turned, swinging the ax at the building and making sure support beams were hit to make the wall collapse. “Yeah so what if I am from there? Ya dumb fucks got a problem with me then you’ll take me on one by one instead of catching me with my pants down,” She yelled into the building at them.
As the smoke of the rubble cleared, a recognizable figure that was a grand master outfit for the Lin Kuei in shades of black. She looked at him and her immediate reaction was to say, “Oh come on! They started it!” Luckily the rubble had only injured a few of the Lin Kuei of the Netherrealm. The newly made gimps, however, did not make it. They’d reform somewhere else anyway. “I just came here to train with my partner,” She tried to reason with him, “That in there was part of the training, attempting to resist temptation. I, obviously, failed like a flailing moron. Then they came in and two of them wanted to have sex with the bunch.” She pointed at the two who were near the ones that had moved away. “See? Their pants are still down!”
It was clear that this being had enough of her talking and the area around her seemed to change in the blink of an eye. She was surrounded by a metal imprisonment that its soul intent was to keep things in. She was in her own little personal cell and she could see others in there cells, writhing and being darling little assholes. She sighed and said, “Fuck… Now I need to get out of this fucking bullshit.” She looked at the cage and looked at her hand. He took her ax, what a fucking asshole. She was going to have to man handle her way out of there, maybe a little literally. She looked at the door to her cell and tried to see how the door worked, by punching it in the center of the door. She had managed to dent the door but it hurt her knuckles more than it hurt the door. She growled at it and punched the door again, this time making a more sizable impact as the door bent inward and looked about to fall off. She gave it one more punch with her reddening knuckles, missing her target and just hurting herself more than the door again.
She growled at it and stepped away a moment, thinking of what she needed to do. She whispered to herself, “Fucking bullshit prison with a bullshit metal door… This can’t hold me… I am a fuckin Khan…” She geared herself up and this time ran at the door as she punched it, the metal frame giving as the door fell off. She growled and calmed herself, a smirk returning to her face as two keepers stood outside of her door. She laughed at them, it was menacing and somewhat deep for a woman. Had she been in her own realm it could have been distinctive from her father’s, but here there seemed to be no difference other than the pitch. This wouldn’t deter the keepers and she wouldn’t be deterred by them not backing down. Instead she said, “Come over here so I can fist fuck you all in the asses.”
One of the keepers came forwards, this one was metallic and its whirring was evident as a nozzle on it began to turn orange-ish. “Fuck…” Tenebrae spoke as she ducked down and rolled towards it as the fire spurted out of the flamethrower. She got some of her hair singed and her clothes burnt, small licks of flames putting marks on her skin. The burn only got her more excited as she came out of her roll and uppercut-ed at the the being’s chest. She wouldn’t place a dent into it but made the flame thrower aim upwards as it spewed its flames. Her knuckle that was about to bleed was seared shut by the nozzle in the strike, pulling her fist back as she struck the other one out straight ahead. Her fist would be met by sharp blades of the internal workings as they were exposed through the metal, her hand feeling like it was getting grind-ed before she could pull it back.
She had to come up with something different as her hand was bleeding out, the flamethrower being pointed back at her. She moved to the side this time and left her fist out in its path, it searing the wound shut but made it to second degree before she could pull her hand away. She saw chars up on her arm where she didn’t want them but this would have to do for now. She moved in and kicked at the keeper, it moving to the side as the other one began shooting at her. She managed to move off to the side taking minimal damage from the bullet barrage and said, “Missed me ya moron!” She moved to punch at the one she had been focusing before but was met with a need to reroute as the other pushed forward a chainsaw at her. She managed to reroute but her front got cut up by the spinning blades. She slammed her hand between her breasts to check that her skeleton was still in tact before quickly getting back into a fighting stance. She used her body weight to slam her fists into the nearest keeper. It took damage and its internal works seemed to now be crunching on themselves, using a quick jab for a final blow. The other keeper wouldn’t allow it and fired at her again, her managing to take some of the bullets before retreating from her onslaught.
She really had no time to regroup so she moved in again, punching with her most injured hand at the most damaged keeper. This only greeted her with another barrage of bullets and this time, each one hit. She fell back and ended up laid out on the ground on her side. “Damn it…” She cursed then pushed herself to get back up. She didn’t care about the bleeding and another smirk grew across her face as she spoke to the keepers, “You know… I was born in blood.” She rushed the mostly broken one again, finally being able to strike the final blow on it. She then turned to the other keeper and barely dodged its chainsaw, part of her one breast being chopped off. Her face didn’t lose its smirk, not thinking the intimidation would work on a machine but she was feeling cocky. She ran up and managed to punch her good fist into the keeper’s chest, pulling out some of its workings despite her hand getting a bit cut up. The keeper fell over and she took a deep breath, falling to her knees as she tried to regain herself.
She looked at the keeper that had the flamethrower and grabbed the bit, still hot. She pressed it onto her worst wounds and let it seer them shut. She grit her teeth in a seemingly insane smile as she felt her flesh cauterize. She continued this with every open wound except some of the minor bullet holes. She then un-tucked some of her pants from her boots, ripping it off and tucking the bits back in. She took the ripped pieces and wrapped her hand, making sure the blood couldn’t escape it. Her eyes turned up to the way forward to finding freedom and took her first steps forward. She’d already wasted a few hours just attempting to do some quick battle medical procedures. Now she was out and in the halls, wandering to try for a way out.

Bell’uomo took the chance to relax a bit, now knowing that the common couldn’t hear the mafia talk. He smirked and said, “Good point.” He heard the name and that also brought a smile. “Bell’uomo Mortelupi, il mio bambino.” He threw in the last part to be formal but also poke a little fun at her small size. He took a deep breath and then continued the second part to the question, “If you all are so powerful, why made so small? Is it not difficult to find respect? I am sure bosses respect you and underlings made to, still, you understand me?” He was trying to plae things that didn’t make much sense into a form that did. He liked them as a grouping and didn’t want to step his bounds, but he had to push them a bit if he wanted information.
-
Bell’uomo nodded to her mentioning that his wolf was cute, making a mention of “His name is Sicario.” Then as he listened to the news of an impostor, he sighed. He knew there were several out there and that it was typical for wannabe mafias to spring up. He shook his head and said, “Yeah but there might be an impostor somewhere. Usually an illusion to themselves and to others. No offence.” He wanted to speak of what he thought but at the same time tried to hide his meanings in case others listened, knowing mist was a thing to cause issue. He made sure to glance back at the moving people every now and again like a normal person, while asking, “You guys are powerful, right?” He tapped the finger with his ring towards her to give her a sense of meaning that he meant all the Arcobaleno.
-
Bell’uomo gave a slight nod to the first comment of it being them. He finally got his first shoe on, working on the second then. He heard that she wanted to pay her respects and gave another nod, it was quite kind of the Arcobaleno to wish to see a boss. He paused when the event was mentioned. He slipped the shoe on a bit more easily as he thought if there was something to say on that. “It did stir up quite a lot. Why would an event need a face though?” He was curious as to what the importance of placing him to the incident was. He felt more comfortable being able to talk to them face to face and made a careful wave for the Arcobaleno to follow as he moved towards his gate. His flight did not leave for a while, though, so he would have time for the being to talk. He would listen on the move as he went to gate C6, sitting in one of the two seat areas next to the window so they could talk in confidence but not oddly being watched by strangers.

A body lay under an elevated keg with muscular tone and covered in scars. Large breasts were touching the keg and pressing against it as the body breathed slowly. Black baggy pants with hardly a stain flowed on the muscular legs of the female wearing them. Maroon boots wriggled a bit as the foot twitched a bit. She laid still until a Tarkata attempted to touch her mask, grasping it’s hand as the eyes in the holes of the skull with red peering out. She then proceeded to use this being to pull herself out from under the keg and drag an immense ax from where it had been at her side. Her sheer size made her pull the smaller being down and then she forced him to the wall then pressed the ax to its throat. Some green left the ax as some left from her eyes, sticking him there.
“Don’t fuck around with me,” The voice was firm and harsh, like hot gravel being drug across the flesh of an infant. “Make sure my siblings know if you dare touch my men, I will single handedly drag them to Netherrealm on a golden platter…”
“Yes Tenebrae…” The Tarkata spoke then took a swing at her, her ax pushing to the side swiftly as the Tarkata’s head rolled off the falling body and bounced on the ground.
Tenebrae showed a smile so sick as her hand pointed to the body as all of the fingers spread, a green orb pulling out of the body as it moved to her hand and sunk into her flesh. She let out a contented sigh as she looked around as her men came out of the darkest parts of the brewery and gazed at their leader. “Guess that message won’t make it back,” She chuckled and looked out at each of them. She knew it was time to get a move on and go collect who she would be fighting with in Kombat. She looked and found a single one capable of making a portal and said, “Hey, I am going to head to Netherrealm, mind opening and closing a portal? Of course you don’t. I will win this bullshit then return and rule here.” She raised her ax into the air and yelled, “FOR OUTWORLD AND THE DECEASED TRUE RULER!”
Her men raised their fists and the sorcerer ran forward to open a portal to Netherrealm. She ran through after nabbing a bottle of Outworld wine, shoving it somewhere private for later since she had no pockets, and after she passed the portal was closed behind her. Tenebrae felt the effects of here and saw a being standing next to where they had arranged for training waiting for his partner. She walked over in a part jog and looked at him, his form decayed and still so marvelous from when she had last seen him when she was eight. She looked him over and said, “Looks like you lost a lot of everything. Good look for ya though. Did your dick fall off?” She looked under the centauran body to check, and it had indeed fallen off. “Damn, but that thing was huge!”
He looked at her with his holes that were once eyes, a hoof stamping on the ground as he let out a harsh deep chuckle. “That’s why it fell off first…” His voice was deep and like a bubbling vat of oil. “Are you prepared, Khan?”
“Of course I am ready, Toron,” She started to climb up onto his back, placing herself on one of his vertebrae by accident, the bone making the glass holding the wine make a distinctive thunk sound in her body. She readjusted to be between the elongated vertebrae.
“What the hell do you have in there?” He turned awkwardly as his lack of musculature allowed him to look her in the eyes, arms pulling his blades from his own hind quarters.
“Wine,” She answered bluntly, tapping his hindquarters as she said, “Well, I am stuck here for a while so let’s go find some women to fu-… Oh yeah your dick fell off… Then women for me to fuck.”
Toron shook his head and turned his torso back around the right way and galloped off to the nearest settlement. He lit himself on fire as they barged through just to make themselves better in appearance. She leaped off of Toron as he kept running through just to make an appearance, her running into one of the buildings and hit the jackpot in diversity of corrupt women. She closed the door behind herself and said, “Hello ladies… Get down on the nearest bed or you’ll suffer a wrath more horrible than this life.” She chuckled as some of them listened and ran for the bed, four out of the few stayed to stand their ground. “Pft, typical.” She swung her ax at their knees and let them stay with those, dragging them and their severed limbs to the bed room.
“Have at it,” She said as she threw the limb onto them, getting herself into the middle of the fun and making them pleasure each other and herself as she directed them to do so. She was just getting highly into it when the door opened and a more shriveled version of her parents had revealed. She gazed at them and blinked a bit. “Oh, um, hello,” She waved as the women laid on her, nude bodies pressing onto her. “What are you doing here? Oh wait… Yeah you both died.”
Shao Khan stepped forward and said, “What are you doing here? Your siblings couldn’t have killed you this quickly.”
“I am training,” She smirked a bit and placed her arms around some of the torsos that were missing their legs and continued, “On these women.” She stuck her tongue into the one ear and smirked.
Shao Khan and Shang Tsung looked at one another, Shao Khan smirking and walking out of the room. Shang Tsung wanted to question but as it stood, she had the more power and so he left her to her business.

Bell’uomo carefully went through security, taking his hand out of his pocket with an attempt to keep the illusion of there still being a gun in there. He did not know where the threat had possibly gone but he was not about to put his guard down. He placed his briefcase on the rollers before the conveyor and carefully took his shoes off. He also placed a slip on top of the briefcase that seemed to be some form of official document that he attained by opening the case just a crack to pull it out. The crack wasn’t enough to see what was inside, but when the person scanning the case saw it about to come through, they hit a button, which was pressed again as the case and shoes passed through. He passed through the detector without even a beep, taking his briefcase to slip the document back in then carrying it in an off hand as he spotted the small being next to a man tying his shoes.
He grabbed his own shoes and as the other man left, he sat down next to the baby and slowly placed his shoes on, buying time by seeming to have trouble as he spoke casually, “That was you?” He made sure his ring was visible, tilting it with his fiddling hands so he could show this one who he was without announcing it. He knew what she was but made sure to keep things private between them for now.
-
Bell’uomo had walked part way to where he needed to get his dog to. He heard his dog growl for something he too had felt but was about to brush it off until the wolf let out a warning. He placed his hand into his pocket and made it look like he was holding a gun in his pocket. He had a feeling of stern alertness to him, his eyes wandering as he waited the short executive line to check his pooch. He placed the pooch down and “let go” of his “gun” so he could show his tickets and stand to look around. He could barely feel the hiding mist and this distressed him. He placed down the required amount to have his pooch stored safely and securely.
He showed his identification as an ambassador and then took his tickets back. He stayed alert and moved on to the security check, keeping his briefcase as his side and his hand in his pocket holding a “gun”. He made sure to not feel as a threat but as on guard as he stood in the security line. He should have surpassed it as an ambassador but he wanted to see if his pursuer would continue to tail him through the airport.

Kahn Clan
Clan Beginning
This clan was initially not a clan at all, being just Shao Kahn himself. Outworlders live for long periods of time so nothing can really be traced before him, only the Elder Gods know beyond that. Within Outworld, Shao Kahn would make Tarkatan minions and even had one be his ‘daughter’. This soon became not enough for even him and he required something with his own blood. After much convincing, he had his shape shifting human ally (Shang Tsung) transform into and stay as an Outworlder woman for many years. During the course of Shang Tsung’s time as a woman, he and Shao Kahn had thirty-seven children. Each child received training from both their parents but only their hopefuls would learn the ultimate in passed down techniques.
Clan Continuance
Most of the clan prefers to inbreed, the only known exception so far is the youngest child of Kahn and Tsung, Tenebrae. The clan is at war with itself for ownership of Outworld. Each portion of the clan has placed themselves with their own banners and fight for different reasons or for the thrill. Some don’t fight at all.

Due to the deviation in the clan, they have an unbalanced mixture of moves relative to what they could learn and personal finishers instead of clan finishers. They typically range anywhere from being adept in multiple sorceries to being more physically capable of combating their foes.
Clan Members
Venir Kahn
Age: 52
Realm: Outworld
Attitude: He lusts for power and will stop at nothing to prove himself the true ruler of Outworld. He is an emotional nutcase and does not know how to handle himself properly emotionally, usually tending to some very odd interactions and things being misinterpreted.
Moves:
1. Soul Weapon – Venir uses collected souls to create weapons of a physical nature.
2. Strike of the True Emperor – Venir uses a soul version of Shao Kahn’s hammer to bash the opponent repeatedly.
3. Flesh of the Soul – The Tainted souls collected by Venir pull from his body in a skull-like form and charge at the enemy to take bites out of them.
4. Bow to the Master – The Tainted Souls collected by Venir pull from his body in a skull-like form and pin the enemy in place by biting hold of them with sharpened teeth. They typically bite hold of the hands, feet, knees, elbows, shoulders, hips, and neck.
Finisher: Bane of Heaven and the Nether – Venir will pin an opponent using a move similar to “Bow to the Master” but will assure they are pinned to the ground. From there, he will make his body into a spiritual form and force himself into the opponent. The opponent’s body will begin to bleed from every orifice and the skin will pull apart. Internally, the organs will be rupturing and the soul being torn to shreds. Once the process is complete, Venir will stand up out of the victim’s stomach as the skin flies apart everywhere.
History
Venir was the first of a line of many children, also the first to have been wanted to be given away to the unforgiving wilds. As Venir was born, he was pale and fragile. The slightest bump made the babe bruise, and Shao Kahn didn’t want him for that reason. He commanded for Shang Tsung to take the child out somewhere in the Realm and just discard him. Shang Tsung held the infant carefully and nodded, carrying the child out. As he walked out into the Realm, he kept peering down at the child. He took a deep breath and instead of discarding it, he made a home for them in the middle of nowhere. He placed the babe there and gave him what he needed. Between visits, he began to see the child was fading, asking a Tigrar Shokan to watch after the babe carefully. This Shokan’s name was Temor and his fur was white.
At first, the Shokan didn’t even want to touch Venir, knowing it may bruise him. He suffered from wanting to help the child but being unable to offer the care he fully needed. He then attempted to pick him up, scooping his claws under the fragile babe and picking him up carefully from both sides. He held the infant to his chest and looked at the back, small pricks and scratches were obvious on the infant’s skin and bruising. Temor sighed and didn’t understand why he was placed in charge of such a thing, his race was so brutal. One day he asked and received the answer, “To protect him.”
Temor made sure to stay with the infant and began picking him up monthly, then weekly, then daily. It seemed the infant was starting to become less likely to bruise as he did so. He eventually was picking up the young one multiple times a day and was able to hold him while doing many things. Temor was beginning to understand why there was such an importance on the infant, why he should be protected. He watched him grow to his first birthday, trying to make a celebration for him on his own but failing at the instructions given to him. He made a very flat and hard cake, and he didn’t know how to ‘decorate’ the home so grabbed things with different colored bloods and splatted them on the walls. Shang Tsung didn’t seem happy with it, but Venir did. He giggled and laughed and would point at all the pretty blood.
Temor did better on the second birthday, had helped Venir with his first steps and first words. Shang Tsung didn’t show up for this one, the second in line being born. Temor and Venir celebrated alone and were fine with that. As Venir grew, he started to be able to train with Temor, taking side lessons from Shang Tsung. Venir’s skin grew tan and even placed tattoos on with Temor’s help. He couldn’t get as strong as his teacher and greatest friend, but he made up for it with his abilities in sorcery. He became so adept so quickly, he was certainly a prodigy. He made sure he attended their training at a special spot every day, learning to live alone.
As he reached his sixteenth year of life, he went to his training spot to meet with Temor. He waited for hours and then knelt down to wait until the next day. There was still no sign and he did not understand why he was not showing up. He wandered and checked the entire training area, finding not a single trace of him. He went back to kneeling near the center, near a giant stone that had imprints of Temor’s fists from teaching Venir to punch properly. He would sit there for nearly a week, his skin turned pale once more and his hair had lost its black pigments. Shang Tsung found him there for his own teachings but saw the state Venir was in and asked, “How long have you been out here?”
Venir shrugged and said, “A week… I don’t know…” He moved to get up to greet his parent and ended up not being able to move without falling. The ground caused his flesh to bruise.
Shang Tsung moved over to Venir and knelt down to him, placing a hand very gently on his shoulder. “Why?”
“Temor didn’t show up,” Venir tried to get back up, Shang Tsung helping him. “I thought if I waited… He’d show up…”
Shang Tsung didn’t hesitate, “Temor is dead.”
Venir’s face didn’t seem to know what to do, just twitching. He part-way smiled, it felt good but he didn’t understand what he should be feeling. He said, “Why? Who the hell would kill him?”
“He was on an Extermination Squad,” Shang Tsung told him, “He was killed by the enemy.”
Venir stayed standing put, still no clue how to feel or how to deal with this odd sensation he was feeling. Shang Tsung thought it would be better if he tried to sort it out on his own, leaving only to return hours later with a vial with a glowing green orb inside of it. He handed it to Venir, who asked, “What is this?”
“His soul,” Shang Tsung spoke seriously, “Do with it what you will, but he wouldn’t have liked to know that you were sitting here sulking about his death.” He left him again to do as he wished.
Venir opened the vial and caught the soul, holding it to himself as it felt warm. As he held it, it pressed into him. He felt the soul’s warmth overtake his body as his flesh became nourished once more, feeling the strength of his guardian and feeling all he’d felt. He could see into the soul and found what had happened. He smiled, still upset but he smiled. All he had left was Shang Tsung, and he would cherish him. He was brought many Shokan and other species, just for him to rip apart souls and practice his sorcery on them. Venir only collected the souls of the vilest and violent beings brought to him. He gained a reputation as a “New Shang Tsung”, and as an “Unknown Sorcerer”. Word spread even to Shao Kahn himself and out of curiosity, had Shang Tsung find and present this unknown sorcerer to him.
Shang Tsung returned with Venir at his side, Venir being clothed in fine black robes that had been given to him on his thirty second birthday. When brought before Shao Kahn, Venir knelt down to him immediately as he had been warned to do. He had a smile hidden on his face but made it straight, causing it to twitch. Shang Tsung waved a hand to Venir and said, “This is your former child, Venir Kahn. Your first born.”
Shao Kahn was a bit surprised at this and demanded, “Stand up, Venir.”
Venir stood and stared at Shao Kahn, directly in the eyes. This made him smile but Shang Tsung turned to Venir and said, “Look down a little.”
“No,” Shao Kahn corrected him. “He will be fine like this. In fact, it wouldn’t be a bad idea if he stood to my left and you to my right.” Shang Tsung nodded and came up to stand to Shao Kahn’s right. Venir walked up hesitantly and stood at the left, exuding confidence only after he was halfway there. Shao Kahn then noticed the tattoos and asked, “What are those for?”
Venir looked down then at Shang Tsung, being given a nod to speak. Venir looked at Shao Kahn and said, “I wanted them and Temor helped me etch them into my flesh.” He waited for disapproval and his face twitched as he held back a smile.
Shao Kahn accepted the reason but seemed off put by the face twitching, leaning to Shang Tsung and asking, “What is wrong with him?”
“I don’t know,” Shang Tsung spoke perfectly seriously, “He’s been like that since the Shokan watching him died.”
Shao Kahn leaned back away and then let it be. Years passed with them taking such positions, Venir dealing with traffic when Shao Kahn and Shang Tsung were ‘busy’. He met some of his younger siblings this way and got to see some of them handed over to their caretakers. He wondered why they weren’t taken care of by the ones having them. One day, after his thirty-fourth year, the day was darker than night and his youngest sister was born. She was deemed as beautiful and the perfect heir. He saw why and had a straight face as she was presented out to a Tarkata. She was large and healthy, seemingly already powerful. This bothered him as the eldest, wanting the throne now just so she couldn’t have it.
After his forty-fourth birthday, Shang Tsung didn’t show up to be at Shao Kahn’s side. Venir moved to take his place next to Shao Kahn at his left, getting blocked by a hand. He glanced at Shao Kahn and said, “This is my place.”
“Not anymore,” Shao Kahn responded to him. “Come over to my right.”
“Where’s Shang Tsung?” Venir demanded. “That is his place and I will not take it.”
Shao Kahn leaned towards him as he gave him a light push, “Shang Tsung is dead, it is your place now and you will take it.”
Venir reached that sensation once more where he didn’t know what to feel or do. The casket was brought forth and the body revealed, sure enough he was dead. The smile snapped out as he went to Shao Kahn’s right and he spoke reluctantly, “Yes, my emperor.” Shao Kahn took the smile as a sign of power lust, not minding it. Venir’s mind, though, was plotting. He spent five years placing things into Shao Kahn’s alcohols, trying to poison him. Nothing seemed to work at all until he thought of something different. He went to the genetic labs and played with typical poisons and extracted the pure toxins, even taking a poison producing Saurian there just to crush the body flat to take all of the poisons. He pulled the toxins out and placed the most potent and refined toxin into a tiny glass vile that once contained his keeper’s soul.
As typical, Alcohol was demanded at one point during the day. Venir was more than happy to retrieve it. He took out the vial and attempted to place a single drop in the alcohol, missing the bottle first time and watched it burn a hole through the table. He hid this with a table cloth and tried again, much more carefully. He got the acidic toxin into the beverage, taking it to Shao Kahn. He handed it over and Shao Kahn nearly downed the entire thing, like usual. He gripped his head as he felt something burning inside, a sudden dizzy spell taking him over. “I am going to my chambers…” He spoke sternly as he used his Warhammer as a crutch. Venir waited until he heard the door close to follow.
He carefully pressed open the door to watch Shao Kahn cough up large volumes of blood, laying onto his bed as he tried to figure out what was wrong. His skin began to pale from the lack of blood and his body was weak. That was when Venir made himself known, Shao Kahn tried to right himself but Venir placed up a finger and said, “tsk tsk, you should stay down… Or maybe I should drop you off in the middle of nowhere and let you fight to stay alive.” He had a big smile on his face as he spoke to Shao Kahn, “So… Why did you do it?”
“You… were born weak…” Shao Kahn answered as he reached for his hammer.
Venir nabbed it and lifted it with some trouble, holding it as he said, “Now… What could you want this for?” He bounced the hammer in his hands. “Right now… You are the weak one. I am in control here.”
Shao Kahn coughed up another large volume of blood as the world began to blur around him. He spoke weakly, “You could never… be in control… Reiko knows my will… And you will never… find it out…” He coughed out much more blood and began to wheeze as his innards felt like they were rupturing. His eyes were bleeding and his nose was as well.
“We’ll see,” Venir placed the hammer out of his reach, leaving the room as he died. He then placed onto his face a look of panic and went running to find Reiko. He was just coming into the palace so Venir ran up to him. “Reiko!” He exclaimed then pointed back towards Shao Kahn’s room, “I don’t know what happened, I gave him his normal alcohol then he went to his room and there is blood everywhere!”
Reiko rushed back into the room with him to find it was too late. Shao Khan was a cold lifeless corpse on his bed, covered in blood which was strewn around his room. Reiko glared at Venir and said, “Why did you not attempt to serve your emperor?”
“I did,” Venir spoke as he said, “I was taking on the throne room like he asked as he left to his room. I was curious as to why he didn’t return and I can’t give life, only take it. I ran to find help but…” He waved his hand at the corpse and then dropped it. “This shouldn’t have happened…”
Reiko gave Venir a suspicious gaze, something Venir had never seen before. Reiko nodded and said, “Retrieve the siblings of yours that will understand and spread the word around Outworld… I will reveal his will to those of his descendants and allow things to run as it will happen.”
Venir nodded and went to do so, seeing that Reiko was perhaps a temporary leader. Venir was no fool and did as asked. He gathered all but the youngest, and they met up in the throne room as Reiko stood before them. Venir gave a small head bow to Reiko and realized, for the most part, this was the first time he had met his siblings. One other being came in as a replacement for the youngest sibling, her tough-looking and battle scarred Tarkata guardian. “Am I late?” He spoke to Reiko.
“No, Yemara,” Reiko spoke back to the Tarkata with some respect, a hint for the others to not judge the being. “All of you must understand,” Reiko addressed them all, “The thing that will make you ruler is not what you think it is. If you find this object, you may in fact rule all of Outworld.”
All of the children rushed past Reiko and for the corpse, Yemara joining them as he’d lagged back a bit. They all grabbed for his helmet, tearing it apart. Yemara made off with the skull-looking part, other with fragments of the armor in the helmet. Venir had gotten one of the horn looking things, sighing in disgust. All of them left but Venir stayed in the throne room and looked back at Reiko with a smile, Venir was pissed and still didn’t know how to show it. “This isn’t right… is it?” He waved the horn around.
Reiko shook his head and said, “I am not allowed to disclose if you are or not.”
Venir looked at the piece and said, “We all rushed for the helmet… It is not what I think it is… So tell me… What is it?” He turned and walked up to Reiko, the sharp implement in his hand.
Reiko shook his head, “I will not tell.”
Venir attempted to stab Reiko with it but his hand was caught. He shot souls out of his body and made them pin Reiko. He was trapped to the throne itself and Venir ripped his hand from Reiko’s grasp and plunged the pointed object into his abdomen, making sure to miss vitals. Reiko bared his teeth but attempted to show no pain. Venir said, “You will tell me…” He turned his head as some Shokan entered the room and said, “I believe we may have a culprit of our Emperor’s death… Please place him in confinement for me to question.” The Shokan didn’t question and grabbed him, the souls removing their grasp and returning to Venir.
Venir made daily visits down to Reiko in his personal torture chamber. He was confined by every mobile joint in his body and seemed to never want to give up where the location or even what they were looking for was. His visits typically consisted of him coming down in his black robes and holding a cane with a spiked ball on the end of it. His fingers would wrap around it so carefully, not a single prick would come onto his fingers. He would walk up to the detained Reiko and look at the battered and slowly dwindling carapace. He’d pick up the cane on the lower end and swing it at his face. “You will bow to your future emperor.”
“If you ruled Outworld, there would be no future,” Reiko spat at him, blood landing next to his shoe, “I will never bow to you…”
Venir sighed and said, “Well, if you won’t bow, just tell me what I am looking for and where it is…”
“Go fuck yourself,” Reiko would take a few deep breaths, preparing for what he knew would happen next. Venir whacked him again with the ball, this time in the chest. “Is that all you got?!” Reiko would taunt him.
“Shut up!” Venir began to beat him senseless with the cane and eventually tossed it aside and placed his fingers at his throat as he pressed down, “You are the weak one here! I am in control!”
“Fuck… You…” Reiko spat in his face.
Venir backed off and wiped it off, growling at him. “Fine… Let me show you how I feel for you…” Venir moved to the back corner, looking at implements as he grabbed a stick completely covered in spikes and a knife. He moved back to Reiko and sliced his pants open, shoving the spiked stick up into his anus as far as it could go. Reiko tried to not move or jerk from it, it’d only cause more damage. Venir then pulled from it as the last bit was in and looked at Reiko’s face. “Do I see pain?” Venir chuckled.
“Fuck you…” Reiko just repeated.
“If you insist…” Venir took the knife and held it to his genitals and said, “Say it again.” Reiko remained silent and just glanced down at him. “Good,” Venir smirked as he grabbed them hard, “Now… Tell me where and what it is…”
Reiko grit his teeth and said, “Fuck… you…” He felt the knife pierce and slice through it. He slammed his eyes shut and breathed deep, “I won’t tell! You could take all my organs and even my soul and you would never find out!” He felt the knife slice something else in half, him slamming his head back in pain as he tried to take it.
Venir had been careful to not cut any major veins or arteries, standing up with the blood dripping off his knife. “Then be prepared for actions like this daily,” He flicked the blood off into Reiko’s face then walked to the table to place the knife down and glanced at him, “Oh, and good luck pushing that stick back out.”
Venir would then re-attend to the training of the few who pledged loyalty to him, every now and again making more and more Tarkata. His army grew even when some were killed for disobedience.
Deverik Kahn
Age: 50
Realm: EarthRealm (Formerly Outworld)
Former Armor
Current Armor
Attitude: He is a strong and dignified Grand Master of the Shirai Kuei, hiding from his past.
Moves:
1. Dragon Style – A fierce and noble fighting style passed down.
2. Tiger Style – A fierce and noble fighting style he had learned.
3. Allies – He calls out souls of purity that he had collected from willing warriors to aide him in battle in the form of clones. More souls in one clone allows for them to take more hits, move faster, hit harder, and look more like him.
4. Clean Taint – If he can make physical contact with his opponent, he can reach in and grasp the soul without pulling it out. He can then eliminate taint from it. The more taint in the soul, the more pain caused.
5. Art of the Statue – He launches a ball of ice that can freeze the opponent solid, giving them moments to break out before they freeze to death or are shattered.
6. Ice Clone – He can form ice around himself and move out of it to make a double of himself. If the double is touched, it will freeze the opponent. The difference is his double can move as he moves.
7. CryoPheonix – He takes out two kunai and dashes at the opponent, as he does, ice forms behind him to extend the blades. He slices at his opponents.
8. Inward Pain – He launches ice at the opponent and the ice will take form into his two masters. One ice will attempt to wrap them in chains, the other to freeze their feet in place as Deverik comes from the middle with typically a punch to the chest.
Finisher : Diplomacy – He summons two allies to hold the enemy in place and begin to pull the foe apart. He then will begin to freeze his enemy using some purification in the ice and the souls from top to bottom. He will free the souls to return to him and as he shatters his enemy, he will say, “Heaven awaits.”

History
Deverik was welcomed as the second born, being deemed better than an elder brother that he would supposedly never meet. His larger size and inability to bruise seemed to make him a better candidate then what had come before. He was placed with a Shokan named Forem, who gladly took the little male with him. Forem watched Deverik grow and grew a soft spot for him alone. He trained him with a stick on how to use a weapon, also making sure he could use hand to hand if it was needed. He grew more intelligent each day and began to ask Forem questions.
He swung his stick at him as he said, “Are there places other than Outworld?”
Forem caught the stick and said, “Higher.” As the stick was drawn back he said, “Yeah.”
Deverik swung at him again. “What are they?”
Forem caught the stick again and said, “Harder.” The weapon was drawn back. “Um… NetherRealm, Heaven, EarthRealm…” He caught the stick, “Lower.” The stick was drawn back. “Edenia, ChaosRealm, OrderRealm…” The stick whacked him in the genitals. “SON OF A BITCH!”
Deverik dropped the stick and said, “Sorry!”
“Don’t apologize!” Forem scolded him. “You don’t apologize to the enemy!”
“Sorry,” Deverik muttered again.
“Stop it…”
“Sorry…” Deverik whispered it this time. He picked up the stick and Forem grabbed him by the cape and made him dangle there. “HEY!”
“You let your guard down,” Forem chuckled and held Deverik out of reach while he swung around like a reverse piñata and shouting to be let down. Forem just chuckled and once Deverik looked about to give up, dropped him. “Now…” Forem asked, “Why are you so curious about other realms?”
“I want to explore them,” Deverik put the stick down. “I want to see what else there is out there. Who we fight, who we like, and who we hate.” He gave the best begging look he could give.
Forem sighed and said, “Alright… I will find a sorcerer.” He led Deverik to a sorcerer and said, “We’d like to go to NetherRealm.”
The sorcerer looked at them and said, “Why?”
“Explore!” Was Deverik’s answer.
“Is he insane?” The sorcerer asked, getting a foul look in response. “Fine…” They opened the portal and said, “You owe me, Forem… I will keep it open.”
Forem nodded as himself and Deverik passed through into the Nether, getting greeted by its recently placed Guardian of NetherRealm. The guardian was Noob Saibot and he did not seem pleased that they were there. “State your business here or die,” Noob spoke in a serious voice.
Forem grabbed Deverik’s cape before he could run off and said, “He wants to explore.” Forem pulled Deverik back and said, “Don’t ever start running around without the Realm Guardian’s permission.”
Noob looked at them both and then waved a hand, allowing him to explore. Deverik smirked and then said, “Why not?”
“It’s rude and it can cause war,” Forem released Deverik and he ran off. He sighed and said, “I am too soft…”
“For a Shokan,” Noob said before disappearing.
Forem growled then took off after Deverik. He tried to catch up and Deverik had taken off rather far. He was looking at one of the lava pits, admiring it due to being different. He had nearly fallen in but a sudden tug on his cape made him stay up. He then ran off and found a nearby village and went through it, just checking it out like a lost little kid but with the confidence of an adult. He eventually made it through and followed a path to a prison. He walked to it only for Noob to step into his way. Deverik became confused and said, “How did you?”
Noob simply said, “You can’t go there.”
Deverik huffed and said, “Why not?”
“It could kill you and cause war,” Noob was not about to let a war start. “Where is your Shokan?”
“My what?” Deverik asked then said, “I left Forem behind if that is what you mean… What’s a Shokan?”
Noob hesitated and shook his head as he said, “Forem is a Shokan…”
“He’s a four armed Outworlder,” Deverik argued.
Noob nodded and said, “Yes, but he is called a Shokan.”
“No,” Deverik argued back, “He’s like me but with four arms and less hair.”
Noob sighed and said, “Yes but do you have four arms?”
“I don’t know,” Deverik started to check himself out. “No.”
“That’s what makes him a Shokan and you a pure Outworlder,” Noob tried to explain.
“But I am half human…” Deverik huffed and said, “I heard they are monsters! With eighty arms and fifty legs and nine tails and three heads with only one eye!”Noob gave up and said, “I am a human. You’re not going to the prison, you are going home. You have overstayed your welcome.”
“How?” Deverik stayed put and folded his arms. “You said I could explore and now you aren’t letting me.”
Noob was getting impatient with him, then Forem finally caught up. Forem nabbed Deverik and said, “Don’t run off from me.” He then looked up at Noob and said, “From the argument I heard coming here, we should leave.”
Noob nodded and opened a way for them to get home. Deverik looked at Forem and said, “I just wanted to go to the prison…”
Forem picked him up by his cape again and said, “No wonder he said we can’t stay. He told you no and you fought back, didn’t you?”
“He said I could explore so I wanted to explore,” Deverik whined.
“When a guardian of a realm says no, it means no and you listen,” Forem carried him through the portal. He threw him down near their sorcerer’s feet and then said, “Earth Realm.”
“But they don’t like us-“ The sorcerer tried to argue back.
“I said… Earth Realm…” Forem repeated, rather angry. The sorcerer did as demanded and closed the portal to NetherRealm and opened a new one to Earth Realm. Forem crossed his lower arms in an attempt to hide them, then he stepped through. Deverik followed and the first thing they saw was a field in the middle of nowhere. Deverik tried to run off but Forem grabbed him and made him stay still. “There is a guardian here too.”
“Ug!” Deverik huffed and tried to tug away, “Is there a guardian everywhere?”
“Yes,” Forem kept holding on to the cape, “Now behave.”
Once the welcome, Scorpion, approached, he seemed to not be worried at all. “What is your business in Earth Realm?”
Forem smiled a bit at the relaxed guardian and said, “This young one here wanted to explore the realms. We’ve been trying to live in each realm for about a year but he got us kicked out of NetherRealm because he tried to go into the prison after being told no.” Forem felt Deverik tugging on his own cape and trying to get away. He was kind of dangling and swinging on it. “I said behave…”
Deverik groaned and stood up. “But it looks pretty here…”
Scorpion knelt down and took the young boy by the chin as he looked him over. “Khans are so cute when they’re young. I should kill you now and save myself trouble later.”
Deverik tried to get behind Forem and the Shokan was about to be defensive of the young one but the true guardian approached. An elderly looking Sub-Zero walked up and spoke with such distinct, “Stand down, brother, they are guests in our realm.” Scorpion would back off respectfully.
Forem lifted Deverik up so he could sit on his lower arm while holding onto him with his upper arm. Forem nodded a head to Sub-Zero and said, “Thank you sir, is there anywhere he shouldn’t wander and may we stay the full year? He is very curious.” Deverik was glaring at Scorpion from Forem’s arms and making cute little noises that sounded like bubbles popping. He ended up making a spit bubble and stopped glaring as he got amused by it.
Sub-Zero nodded and said, “Stay out of cities, most humans don’t know of the realms and your kind would cause chaos. If the boy wishes to explore these cities, Scorpion will lead him. If he misbehaves, he will be dropped off in NetherRealm.”
Forem bowed his head to him and said, “I understand. Since I am sure he wants to explore, should I just… hand him over?”
Deverik grabbed onto Forem and said, “Don’t leave me with them… They are going to be mean like the nether guy…”
Forem looked at Deverik with care as a few careful glances towards the guardian and his pet. Despite not wanting to look weak, he sucked it up and spoke softly, “No… You’ll be alright. Just behave and do everything he says. Alright?” Deverik started crying a little and gripped onto Forem. “Oh come on… you’ll be fine…” Deverik was still whimpering. “Stop it…”
Sub-Zero spoke firm, “You may join us at the clan home, and he may set out with one of the elders.”
“See?” Forem said, “I can stay, just stop crying…” Deverik looked up and hid his face on him. “Please?”
Deverik nodded and was slowly let down on the ground, pushing away to walk over towards the two and ended up walking behind Sub-Zero to stay away from Scorpion. Sub-Zero looked to Scorpion and said, “I will find another to lead him.” Scorpion nodded and walked away.
Forem nodded and said, “Thank you… I will go. I read maps of where it is. Please keep him safe.” He started his journey knowing that it’d take him a bit to get there and stay out of the sight of humans.
Deverik’s first reaction before Sub-Zero could say anything is, “Do humans kill everything?”
Sub-Zero took a breath and said, “Everything they touch.”
“Are you a human?”
“Not purely.”
Deverik thought and then said, “I’m half human… Will I kill half of what I touch?”
“Only if you allow yourself to,” Sub-Zero spoke back and began to walk, Deverik trailing with him.
“I was told I will have to kill things,” Deverik said as he tried to keep up with Sub-Zero’s longer stride. “I don’t really want to. I can’t tell Forem that though, he’d get pissed and tell my dad and I’d get in trouble…”
Sub-Zero turned to him and said, “Then you will die at the hands of my decendants.”
Deverik paused and looked up at him and said, “So… If I keep hiding, I will die?” He was scared but he wanted an answer.
“If you kill, you will die,” He tried to specify. He knelt down and handed him a pendant with the sigil of the Lin Kuei carved into the stone. “One day you will know what this is.”
Deverik held it and looked at it. He placed it onto his neck and tucked it into his clothes. “I will look it up and I will keep it and I promise I won’t kill anyone.”
Sub-Zero stood back up and walked forward to continue their journey. Deverik stayed close to him and kept the amulet hidden well. He ended up retrieving a scantily clad woman in a silver dress to be his guide. She made him wear school kid clothes, him not liking the idea but went with it as they went to Tokyo. He looked around and saw a lot of the city and then looked up at her, “Why does everything tall seem so close together? And why does it seem like everyone is in a rush? Oh, and why are there so many people when there is plenty of land?”
“They believe in advancement which means going up instead of out,” She spoke as she took him to McDonalds to get him a Big Mac and a soda. She also bought him some sushi and sat him down at a table.
He looked at it and felt awkward about picking it up and taking a bite. After he had a taste he put the burger down. He smiled a bit and picked it back up again and gnawed on it. He put the burger back down halfway and made sure his mouth was clear of the food and said, “Am I eating that properly?” He wouldn’t touch it again until she answered it and he was too shy to look at the other humans to make sure.
“Yup,” She gave him an encouraging smile, “Just like a growing boy.”
Deverik smiled and finished the burger. Then he looked at the sushi and managed to peek out to look to see how the humans were eating the sushi. He reached for the chop sticks and they kept falling out of his hand. He couldn’t figure out how to hold them. She took his chopsticks and pulled out her hair band, wrapping them around the chopsticks with a piece of the paper around the straw to make them easier to use. Deverik gave her a nod and said, “Thank you.” He took the chopsticks and picked up the first piece of sushi, her going back to her food. He stuck the sushi into his mouth and found he enjoyed it better. He then decided to try a sip of soda. He backed away from it and went back to the sushi. It was way too sweet and didn’t taste right at all to him. He avoided the soda and then said, “You’re nice.”
“Oh this is just the tip of the iceburg,” She smiled to him. She finished her meal and tossed it out, taking him to the cosplay districts so he could see it. Deverik was in awe of the outfits and wanted to wander but never went far as he stayed close to her.
“I could have worn my armor here!” He was so excited and looked at everything while trying to not stray too far. He looked up at her and said, “Are there more humans like this?”
“Not always,” She responded to him as she walked him through the district.
“So far I like here,” Deverik spoke and then said, “Everything seems so… Peaceful.”
“Not everything is peaceful but let’s get to that later,” She smiled and took him through to take him to go see the macaques. He enjoyed it even though he felt cold as they watched the monkeys. She made sure he got to see all the good sides and fed him throughout the day. She’d take him back at night as they had a curfew. She offered to let him go back into his clothes but he rejected them to stay in the outfit she gave him.
He would walk out of where she had let him in and would see a fire but wouldn’t go near it. He saw the longhouse was lit up but he didn’t even dare to venture. The woman caught up with him and helped him find his place. He curled up for sleep and she left him to do her own thing. The next morning, Forem was just getting in and went to sleep. Deverik went out and saw the clan out training. He sat out of the way and watched them and their movements. He saw the scary man taking them through training, his hands curled like fierce claws of an eagle. They were all mimicking it and doing advanced forms. Deverik tried to mimic the style and tripped over himself, landing into a snow pile.
Scorpion looked over and uttered something under his breath. Deverik pulled himself out of the snow pile and shook it off. He watched the form again then tried to mimic it again. He would continue to try this as they trained and tried to follow everything they did, even if he couldn’t quite do it. He even tried to mimic the moves for cryomancy and pyromancy techniques and would build up piles of snow where the attacks should have went to make himself feel better about not being able to do it. When they were done, he went out with Cicle again. He saw more of what there was to offer but on the bad side of it all. He came back disheartened that day. He went to sleep immediately and woke up to Forem not being there this time. He had gotten up early enough that they weren’t training yet so he went searching for Sub-Zero to ask him but ended up running into Scorpion instead. Deverik backed away from him even though he had already ran into his leg.
“What are you doing here?” Scorpion demanded of him, kneeling down a bit to get onto his level.
“Looking for the nice guy,” Deverik spoke shyly, “Forem never came to our staying place… Thought he’d know where he was…”
“He left,” Scorpion spoke with a strong sneer in his voice. “So you’re stuck with us until he gets back.”
“But why?” Deverik asked him as he followed him to the training area.
“Some emergency,” Scorpion spoke, “I don’t care nor should I about the affairs of OutWorld.”
Deverik wrinkled his nose and went to his watching spot, only to feel the collar of his outfit be grabbed. “What the hell!” He twisted around partially to see Scorpion had grabbed it and was dragging him down to the group. “Let go!”
“If you’re going to practice what you’ve been watching,” Scorpion spoke sternly as he motioned the gathering students to leave a spot in the front. He tossed the young boy right into the dead front, “Then you should join the group.” He then knelt down and said, “You teach these to anyone and I will come kill you myself.”
Deverik took a deep breath and nodded. He watched and took in each word said carefully and mimicked all that he saw. He made sure that even when he messed up, he didn’t even bump into another. He was hit couple times by mistake and even made to nearly do a split from some of Scorpion’s corrections to his stances. By the time he was ready to head out with Cicle, he was too sore to go anywhere. He insisted on going anyways and the day was repeated without him seeking information on his lost caretaker.
He continued like this for half a year, getting better and stronger every day but still worrying about his caretaker. He was becoming more balanced and acting how he was treated, like a man but sometimes like a kid looking to have fun. He still couldn’t keep up with some of the advanced teachings nor was he able to use either of the two elements needed for some moves to be effective but he practiced and performed them anyways. He was trying to blend in and in a way, he sort of was. The only one still dissatisfied with him was Scorpion, who started to intentionally pick him for spars just to embarrass him. Deverik took the humiliation in stride and whenever Scorpion made a fool of Deverik, he’d just laugh it off and get right back up to continue.
After the year was up, he blended right in and he went to the training on the day of the pick-up and then afterwards, went to the area he was told he should be picked up. He waited there all day and then when night came, he stayed put since he was still in the area. Cicle had brought him food through the day, even though he picked at it instead of just eating it. She tried to convince him to go to sleep when night came but he refused, wanting to be awake for his travel home. He was still sitting there by morning and went to the training, assuming that he could do that before getting picked up. He went through training, trying to show no signs of weakness. He was drained after training and didn’t even go back to the spot he was supposed to wait and stood still where he was.
Scorpion would look down to him and say, “Follow me.” Deverik followed him as he gathered Cicle. They had their own portal made to go into OutWorld. Scorpion lead it up and was not kind in his words as he shouted for the child’s parent to hear, “Hey! Get your as out here and take your damn kid back!”
Shao Khan came out from his palace and glared down at Scorpion as he said, “The fuck did you say to me?”
Scorpion glared up and said, “You heard me.”
The area began to freeze over as Sub-Zero passed through and said, “I felt three of my Lin Kuei pass through here.”
Reiko and a Shokan came out to stand on either sides of Shao Khan. An Elder God appeared and said, “Kombat may not continue until one has passed. Separate now.”
Sub-Zero, Cicle, and Scorpion turned and began walking to leave. Before they got too far, Scorpion turned and looked at Deverik, “If you stay here, you will die.” Then he turned and kept walking.
Deverik looked at him and felt something was wrong, feeling his father place his hand on his head. Deverik looked up and then saw a glaring disapproval. He wasn’t going to take this. He ducked out from under his hand and ran to keep up with them, walking right by Scorpion’s side. He passed through with them and when he returned with them, he felt good about it. He didn’t even look back and spoke to them, “My first home abandoned me, here I know I will not be abandoned.”
Scorpion looked down at him and said, “Then make yourself useful and get to work.”
Cicle would take him by the hand and showed him to the others as an alley. At first, he was not totally accepted and would need to prove himself. He spent his time training with them as he grew, starting to slowly age like a human being. He trained directly under Scorpion, growing stronger and more like what he wasn’t supposed to be. He mastered the Dragon style and started moving to try other styles. By eighteen, he had both Dragon and Tiger styles under his belt. He had fallen head over heels for Cicle, trying to never show it. He was given his own armor set similar to Scorpion’s and began to wear it when he was out and about. He also made sure to keep a set like his old armor around, in case he would ever be forced to go back.
He visited Sub-Zero nearly daily, just to talk. At this age, he was concerned and spilled the beans about his feelings, “I keep getting distracted during training and it’s getting impossible.”
“Why?” Sub-Zero questioned with a raised brow.
Deverik waved his hand back in the general direction of Cicle and said, “That.”
Sub-Zero understood and smirked, “You are just entering puberty for an Outworlder, aren’t you?” He yelled out then, “Oh Cicle.” She came bounding over. “I would like you to take Deverik out and show him what it means to be human at his age.”
Cicle nodded and took him out to the redlight district. He really didn’t know how to react and just kept blushing, saying, “What the hell is this?”
“Sin,” She said and then looked back at him with a smile.
He breathed raggedly as he tried to contain himself. He closed his eyes as she pulled him into a strip club. She made sure that he had a dance of his own and he just tried to ignore it while the stripper tried to get him to relax. Even Cicle tried to get him to relax but it seemed he wasn’t quite getting there. She thought and took him to the actual escort service and paid for him to have a room and some fun. He was shoved into the room with the escort and locked in until he would do something with the escort. Deverik ended up banging on the door after being shoved in and said, “Come on! I don’t even know what I am doing!”
“She’ll walk you through,” Cicle said standing outside the door.
Deverik grunted and banged his head on the door. “Come on…” He turned around and looked at the escort, walking to the bed to let her walk him through it. He got severely uncomfortable when she removed his pants, being gentle with him for his first time. He had pushed her away as soon as she nearly planted herself on him and went back to the door. “Cicle, I can’t do this…” He begged.
Cicle smirked and said, “Sit down, shut up, or I will tell all of the other guys you were a bitch.”
Deverik sighed and went back to the bed and let the escort do her thing. He had tried to hold back when he got the strangest sensation he had ever felt and so good after it had passed. He was gasping and then Cicle opened the door and came in just to make sure he didn’t fake it. He quickly pulled his pants back up and wouldn’t even look her in the eyes. She smirked and said, “Alright, now that that is over, we can go have some fun.”
Deverik got up and followed her, taking him to a casino. She made sure to keep hold of his hand the entire time. She took him up to one of the machines and sat him down at it. She handed him a card she’d pay for that held his money earned until he was finished and cashed out. She made sure he played on the machine but he seemed to not get a thrill from it. She tried some of the higher stakes ones and he still seemed unimpressed. She ran him through everything until she took him into the underground fighting. Deverik saw Scorpion in a suit, being immediately silenced to say who he was. Deverik gave a slight nod and continued to follow Cicle, watching the fights and her making him place money on some of them.
Once she got him going, she stripped into her underwear and hopped into the arena. He blushed and watched as he placed money on her, despite an eight-foot fucker being placed against her. He cheered for her even and watched her kick his ass. He was aroused by her and made sure he hid it well. The few hits that did manage to land on her didn’t seem to make her flinch. When she won she collected her wins and got out. She giggled and placed her dress back on.
Deverik thought it would be fun so he removed the T-shirt he was wearing and pulled himself into the ring. Some moron hopped in and shouted, “I dedicate this fight to the hot chick who just got winnings.”Deverik smirked and said, “You aren’t making this a fight over her are you?”
The moron said, “I am, if you aren’t chicken.” Deverik chuckled at him and when they started, the first thing he did was push the moron’s punch to the side and moved to be behind him. He didn’t speak but kept a big smile on his face. The moron snarled at him and said, “Bastard, fight me.”
“I am,” Deverik was having fun with this. The moron ran at him and Deverik crouched down, nabbing him and flipping him sideways so he was stuck on his shoulders and then lifted him up and slammed him down on the floor. He smirked as the boy groaned in pain. “Had enough?” He asked with a chuckle in his voice. The kid got up and head-butted Deverik in the stomach. Deverik flexed so he didn’t flinch that bad but the kid definitely hurt his own neck. Deverik was feeling a rush but was trying to hold back a feeling of wanting to kill. “You done yet?” He taunted. The kid rubbed his neck and tried to get up again. He threw a punch again and Deverik pushed it to the side and again as another was thrown. Then before the feeling got too bad, Deverik slammed him hard enough to knock him out then pulled himself out of the ring.
He collected what he’d get out of it and then said to Cicle as he pulled his shirt back on. “We should move on…” He had a bit of grit in his voice.
“Are you alright?” Cicle was worried.
Deverik put on a smile and said, “Yeah.” He took her hand. “I am totally fine.”
Cicle nodded and lead him back. Before they got the whole way back, she pushed him against a wall and kissed him. “Next time you have a little fun, include me in it.”
Deverik was about to question her but before he could get out all of the word “what”, she made out with him right there. She walked away then and went into the homes and to her place. He eventually followed and walked to go see Sub-Zero. He couldn’t wait to talk and gently tapped on the edge to let him know he was there. He was waved in and stood firm in front of him then sat and then curled over. “I didn’t enjoy this night…” He spoke, hesitant and still with a hint of the blood lust from earlier hinting with the dazed lust from the kiss. “At the same time, I did… I’m really confused…”
Sub-Zero spoke simply, “Elaborate.”
Deverik sighed and said, “She took me to this… place and it was… Well… I um… She locked me in a room with a woman that wanted to undress me is what taking me to this very uncomfortable place lead to… I wanted out and she made me stay in there or she said she would tell everyone I acted like a little bitch and I just…” He grunted and went silent as his face turned a new shade of red. Sub-Zero would raise a brow. Deverik shook his head and said, “Then she took me to a Casino and everything was dull. She sat me at machines and made me play card games… Yeah I am getting that Earth Realm runs on monetary bullshit but it still meant nothing to me so she took me to this underground arena and she um…” He paused and his face turned a shade of red again. Sub-Zero would nod to get him to continue. “She took her clothes off and fought in her undergarments. And she won so she came back down got her money for it and then I thought it’d be fun. I hopped into the ring and this dude decided to dedicate the fight to her so I basically made a mockery of him and then he wouldn’t give up and I was…” He stopped short and took a breath. Sub-Zero nodded for him to finish. Deverik spoke with some shame in his voice, “I wanted to kill him… I really did… I didn’t though… just knocked him out…” Deverik rubbed his temples irritably.
Sub-Zero nodded and said, “You showed restraint, that is what was needed. Your siblings wouldn’t have. You have come a long way from being with them. But we are warriors, not children. Death is something we all must face. We will kill, but we must know when it is time to take a life and when it is not.” He smiled, “And as for the events with the… Woman… You’ll have to come to terms with that yourself.”
Deverik looked at him and said, “On the way back she kissed me and told me she wanted to have fun with me next time then made out with me when I was going to ask what she meant and then left me there. I am very confused.”
Sub-Zero turned to him and said, “Fun is an innuendo of what you did with the woman.”
Deverik thought and then gave a contorted face as if to say “really” but then shook his head and said, “Thank you.” He got up to leave as he turned, she was right there and her sudden appearance knocked him on his ass.
“Hopeless,” She smirked and then hopped away.
Deverik sighed and placed his hand on his face, which was bright red. Sub-Zero said, “Children. Such is youth… Now leave my office.”
Deverik nodded and got himself up to leave. He headed out and sure enough Cicle was there waiting for him. He tried to wipe the blush off his face but couldn’t wipe away the smile. He moved to her and said, “I guess we should sleep. Need to be up for training.”
“Can I sleep in yours?” Cicle asked placing her hands onto his chest. She slowly blinked her eyes.
Deverik blushed but he couldn’t refuse, “Sure.” He took her hand and they went to his place. He took his shirt off to sleep and she took off mostly everything. She slipped into his arms and cuddled against him. He tried to relax and just let her do what she wanted. Some time passed and she ended up grinding against him, him blushing horribly. He wasn’t going to question it but a certain friend of his showed up like earlier. She gently tugged his pants off and this time, he didn’t seem to mind. She then took off her own and their warm bodies pressed together. Next thing he knew, she was on top of him and riding him. He enjoyed it instead of rejecting it. He held her close to his body and when they were done, she passed out on top of him, his arms around her and him asleep under her.
The next morning they were late and Scorpion came looking for them. He burst in and saw them nude, turning, and leaving again. Cicle peeked her eyes open and went back to sleep on him. They ended up waking up at noon, getting dressed and realizing they completely missed training. Deverik ended up laying back down to try and figure out what had happened. Cicle smirked and said, “There’s more things I should show you, since we’re not training today.”
Deverik blushed and said, “I hope they won’t make me blush more.”
Cicle kissed him on the cheek and said, “Maybe.”
Deverik smirked and followed her. They stayed close to each other as they headed out and didn’t mind the odd looks. She ended up taking him to a bar that was just opening, sitting him down and getting them drinks. He sniffed it and didn’t know what to think of it. It reminded him of where he used to be eight years ago. He smirked and said to Cicle, “This reminds me of home.” He shook his head and then said, “Well, former home…”
Cicle smirked and said, “No worries, this isn’t even half as strong as anything there.” She took her own and sipped at it.
Deverik smiled at her then took his glass and said, “What’s the worst that could happen?” He took a sip and didn’t really like the taste, but he kept drinking it anyways. He didn’t want to be rude. He felt a little light headed as he went but he held his share.
Cicle giggled at him and said, “I guess next time we need to bump it up.”
Deverik blushed and said, “Or I could just stick with this for a while.”
“Wuss,” Cicle joked with him. Deverik smiled and she got him another one. He chuckled and sipped at this one. She then spoke out of nowhere, “Chug it.”
“What?” He gave her an odd look.
“Try to drink all of it at once,” She then proceeded to do so to hers.
He glanced at the bitter brew in his hands and shrugged, doing as she did. They had stayed there until he asked that they go home, uncomfortable drinking anymore. He started to walk with her home and they took alleys so they weren’t out in the middle of busy streets. Some guy tried to come up behind them and steal from them, but the two heard him coming. Cicle turned first with Deverik following in stride. The man seemed off guard but the two weren’t exactly at full attention and she had stronger drinks than he did. Deverik smirked and said, “Let me take him.”
Cicle nodded and stepped back. Deverik went at the man as he drew a knife, pushing the man’s wielding arm to the outside then used a palm strike to his chest. As the man fell, a blue-green orb came out and floated in Deverik’s hand. Both of them gasped and Deverik tried to shove it back into the body. “That’s a soul!” Cicle spoke, having read a little about this sort of thing. “Put it back!”
“I’m trying!” He kept trying to put it back but he heard someone coming and he dropped the soul, it fading into nothing. “Shit! Let’s go!” He got up and started running, grabbing her hand as he passed her. “I need to tell Sub-Zero…”
“He might kick you out!” Cicle spoke worried.
“I tell him everything,” Deverik said, “I trust him.” They continued back and she insisted coming in with him. They sat present and at first it was just awkward silence. Finally, he spoke, “I want Scorpion here to hear this… Please…” Scorpion revealed himself, having been hiding rather close by. Deverik looked down and said, “She was showing me some other things by taking me to a bar. We were coming back and a guy was stalking us. She looked ready to fight so I offered to take it. I deflected the knife and then palm punched him…”
“The dude’s soul came out,” Cicle said then looked down.
Deverik nodded and said, “I tried to put it back in… Honestly… I thought that when I was learning it young that it would never happen… That I could ignore that part of my bloodline… And now it happened by sheer accident… I panicked and the soul vanished… I dropped it… Please forgive me…” He couldn’t look either of them in the eyes, he was too ashamed of himself.
Sub-Zero looked up at Scorpion then to Cicle as he said, “Leave.” She didn’t question him, standing up and leaving. Then his gaze turned to Deverik who was shaking a little bit. “So,” He started, “You hit him and his soul came out.”
“Yes…” Deverik responded, he was terrified of being kicked out of this place, truly calling it his home.
Sub-Zero gazed more intensely at him, “Then you tried to put it back.”
“Yes…” Deverik’s voice was getting lower and shakier, fearing getting thrown out.
“You were trained for soul stealing as a child?” Sub-Zero questioned.
“No…” Deverik tried to keep his composure, “I was taught about it because it was part of my bloodline, I never thought I could do it…”
Sub-Zero looked up at Scorpion again and then back to Deverik, who was clenching his fist just to keep his composure. Sub- Zero blinked a very slow blink then asked Deverik, “What is making you so nervous?”
Deverik looked up and said, “The thought of losing everything… The life I chose to live… The better life… The harder life… Here I am not a pampered little prince, I am an equal and a warrior and I don’t want to lose it… I would sooner die than go back to OutWorld…” He held himself back from saying anymore.
“Go to your home,” Sub-Zero said, “The elders and myself will discuss it tonight.”
Deverik nodded and rose to leave, walking straight home with the feeling of his own shame drowning him. He saw Cicle waiting for him, he gently hugged onto her and said, “It’s apparently important enough that they have to discuss it…” He had a tear go down his cheek as she began to dampen his chest. He held her close and said, “I don’t want to leave here…”
“I’d come with you,” She said.
Deverik shook his head and said, “No… I wouldn’t let you… It’s horrible in OutWorld…” He ran his fingers through her hair and said, “Let’s just enjoy tonight… Alright?”
Cicle agreed and they laid on the bed, stripping and going at one another. They ravished each other at least six times. Afterwards, they fell asleep, only to wake in the morning to the feeling of dread. Deverik kissed her passionately and sent her to training. He went to the elders who had gathered in Sub-Zero’s hut to hear the verdict. He stood before them and listened for his verdict with his head held low. He felt a shiver go down his spine as Sub-Zero took a breath. Words hit his ears, “You must learn how to control this ability of yours. If you can not, then you will be forced to leave.”
“Yes,” Deverik nodded and was now more worried than before, “I will learn, I promise on my life just… If I do fail, just kill me… Please.” This made the elders glance at each other.
“Why would you choose death over your home?” Sub-Zero asked him to clarify the answer.
“This is my home,” Deverik said firmly. “There is just a place I started, somewhere that let me know there was a better place. If I die, at least I would end up in the Nether. I don’t expect heaven one bit. I was born in OutWorld so no matter what good I can do, I will end up there anyways. And when I am there I can apologize to Noob…” He looked down, feeling he’d said too much.
“You will go apologize now,” Sub-Zero said, “Put on your full gear and return here. Your code name will be Soul. Prepare now.”
Deverik nodded to him and ran off to go place on his Scorpion-like armor, taking in a deep breath as he put the mask on. He kept the amulet around his neck, hidden under his gear. He placed his hand over his chest and down as he turned to a mirror. He stared into his own eyes and didn’t even recognize himself like this. He smiled behind his mask and said, “I can do this…” He then set forth to walk to Sub-Zero, presenting himself silently as a warrior.
“Are you fully prepared?” Sub-Zero hesitated to ask, knowing he should have done so already. Deverik nodded silently and stood a bit more at ease, trying to not show how tense he was. “Once there,” He warned the boy, “If I or Noob do not open a portal for you, you will be stuck there for two years of their time. The time that would pass here would be four days and roughly sixteen hours. Do you understand?” Deverik nodded again and watched as the portal was opened.
He stepped through and embarked on his first mission, standing where the portal dropped him off as it closed behind him. Sure enough, the guardian would come and glanced at Soul, who bowed his head low in respect. Noob felt something that at one point in time had been his and asked, “Who gave you that?”
Deverik thought a moment, confused he looked up and said, “What?”
“The amulet,” Noob spoke firmly.
Deverik didn’t know how he knew it was there but said, “Sub-Zero did, eight years ago in Earth Realm time, forty years here.” He hoped he had that conversion right.
Noob said, “I remember a little snot-nosed brat forty years ago.”
“That was me,” Deverik admitted with shame in his voice. “I am sorry for how I acted. Sub-Zero sent me here just for this reason.” He lost the shame in his voice as it became more determined.
Noob looked him over and shook his head. “Why would he have given that to you?”
Deverik looked down as he said, “I don’t know. He just said one day I would understand what it was.”
Noob nodded then said, “You are apologizing for how you acted and he let you come. If you need to, you may stay here for the duration and train.”
Deverik gave a low bow to him and said, “It would be an honor. I will find somewhere quiet to train.”
“No,” Noob spoke to him fiercely. “You will be training with me.”
He spent the two years in OutWorld, training not just his combat abilities he was taught by the Lin Kuei, but also his soul abilities. He trained hard and learned something he thought no soul master could do, how to purify a soul. He started to learn how to combine his soul techniques with that of the dragon and tiger fighting styles, things piecing together as they were brought to the front. When all was said and done by the end of those two years, he returned a better warrior. Cicle greeted him right out of the portal and hugged him, Deverik placing an arm around her as his twenty-year-old form had missed her. He looked up at Sub-Zero and said, “The Nether will be waiting for me.” Sub-Zero gave him a low nod.
That night, Deverik and Cicle shook the hut and kept half of the village awake. That morning, Deverik felt amazing. For three and three quarters more years, he trained at day and made love by night. He thought everything was perfect until he found Cicle not coming out of bed for training one morning. He went in to see her afterwards and gently rubbed her shoulders. He kissed her ear and said, “You can tell me what’s wrong…”
Cicle looked at him and said, “I can’t train anymore…”
“Why not?” Deverik came beside her and held her close to him.
“I took a test,” She said and looked up at him and smiled a bit, “We’re going to have a baby.”
Deverik was nearly floored, he didn’t want to see her upset by the lack of training but at the same time, he thought it was good news. Her smile made him smile and he kissed her, being pulled onto her as they went a few rounds. By the time they were done, Deverik had to talk to Sub-Zero. He walked to his hut and when he entered, proceeded to bow to him. When he was given the sign to speak, he said, “D-… I am going to have a child.” He smiled a bit and seemed a bit proud of himself.
Sub-Zero looked at him and said, “I suppose that’s good.”
Deverik smiled more vividly, “It is. I want to be able to prove myself. You were my father in my eyes and I would be proud to have a child and raise them here.”
Sub-Zero nodded and said, “I am proud of your words just know they will be sons of the Lin Kuei, which makes them everyone’s family. Your son will be the strongest in the Lin Kuei, I promise.” Deverik beamed with pride and couldn’t contain himself, hugging him. A quick blast of cold made Deverik release him. Sub-Zero smiled and said, “Sorry, I couldn’t contain myself.”
Deverik chuckled and said, “I am going to go train some more. Noob was working me harder than I am getting worked here.” He stood and cracked his back as he headed out and went back to training. He trained up until the night, heading back to his beloved.
His twenty-fourth birthday came and passed as his love rounded out. He stayed on a pattern of training, spending time with her, talking to Sub-Zero, then training some more before bed. They decided one day to have a doctor check it out as she seemed to be unusually large. The report showed three baby boys. They returned home and that day he went to talk to Sub-Zero and simply stated, “There’s three…”
“Three?” Sub-Zero asked wanting him to clarify.
“We’re having three,” He said and smiled a bit. “Three males. I am just out of this world right now.” Deverik couldn’t erase the pride from his face.
“This only happens once in a hundred years,” Sub-Zero spoke firmly.
Deverik looked at him and said, “Please, explain.”
Sub-Zero let out an icey breath as he stated, “Three are born, one is a core, one is the armor, and one is the weapon. They may merge. Your sons will be the strongest in the Lin Kuei now, reguardless.”
Deverik smiled and then looked down a little and said, “Won’t that pressure them?” He showed some of the humanity he had gained from his ventures.
“They will be taken care of well,” Sub-Zero assured him.
Deverik nodded and rose, heading back about his tasks as normal. When the day came when they were born, all the elders gathered to witness this event. Deverik was nervous but made sure to keep hold of her hand the entire time. He was extremely supportive and helped her through it, he tried to not to look at the babies but the moment he did, he was on the floor. Scorpion looked down and said, “Wimp.”
Deverik’s head bounced off when he fell and it woke him back up. He made sure he stared right at her eyes this time and didn’t look down at the children. He had a want to cut the cords but they let the doctor do it, they didn’t want him passing out again. He waited until the children were clean, each born an hour after the other before they’d be handed to her. She held them close and offered for him to hold them. He gently grabbed the eldest and held him in his arms, staring into his little eyes as they opened the first time. This made Deverik very proud and he held him close. He looked to the elders and smiled and offered for them to hold him.
He made sure to hand him first to Sub-Zero, respecting him first as if his own parent. Once the first was taken, he took the second born and held him close. He felt that he was also precious, holding him gently but close. Then he handed him to Sub-Zero once the eldest was passed onto another elder. Then the youngest in his arms, holding him close and looking into his eyes. He just felt pride for them all. He made sure again to pass it to Sub-Zero once the children had been passed on. Before he could place his hands down, the doctor plopped an ice pack in his hand. He looked at him and said, “What’s this for?”
The doctor said, “You hit the floor pretty hard, you might have a concussion. That will help if you get pain.”
Deverik waited until the doctor left the room and proceeded to place the ice pack in the trash. He began to have a mild headache, flinching as it set in but hiding it best he could. Scorpion walked to the trash receptacle and took the ice pack out of it. He moved to Deverik and forcefully proceeded to place the cold compress onto his forehead. Deverik got the message and didn’t argue with his master. He attempted to wait for him to leave to toss it out, the moment it was about to leave his hand he was looking back. Deverik placed it back on his head and grunted.
He went over to Cicle and looked at their three darlings, she looked up at him and said, “They’re beautiful…”
Deverik nodded to her, “More like handsome.”
Cicle giggled at him and said, “Just hearing you say that, no one would know you weren’t human…”
Deverik smiled to her and kissed her lovingly. When they were given the okay to go about normal, Deverik decided he was going to do day trips to different realms so he could at least finish his original mission. Sub-Zero allowed it and let him pass into different realms, traveling to Edenia, Order Realm, and a few others. His final trip was to Chaos Realm where he ended up lost and nearly trapped. Scorpion was sent in after him to find him, searching nearly the entire realm. Scorpion had finally found him on the ground, half of his armor torn to bits and laying on the ground in a pool of his own blood. Etched into his flesh were the words “I’m not my father” and “I am human” in various places as well as his birth mark marking him as a Kahn being severed from his flesh. There were obvious punctures that their angles suggested that sometime during the fight against the madness, he had been attacked. There was a body near-by, shriveled as if the soul was torn from it with a burn mark on their chest. Deverik was still breathing but pale from possible having laid there for a while.
Scorpion shook his head and picked him up and ran him back to the portal. Once through he was taken immediately to medical care. That trip of his cost him a week in Earth Realm when he should have only been in there for a few moments. When Deverik first came to, he jerked on restraints they had placed on his arms and legs. He tried to look down to find his neck was tethered as well, as could he feel a restraint on his chest and on his stomach. This freaked him out a bit especially since there was a blood bag dangling in his sight as well as saline. Then he turned his head a bit to see his master over him and he calmed a bit, he recognized him. He saw him reach down and then hold the ice pack that he was supposed to have taken with him and placed it on his head. Then he spoke, “You did have a concussion, dipshit.”
Deverik was in enough pain that he really couldn’t feel that there was still a headache. He looked up at him and asked, “What happened?”
“You had a concussion when you left here,” Scorpion said, looking directly at him. “The moment you entered Chaos Realm, your mind was lost.”
Deverik took deep breath and shook his head, the icepack slipping off but Scorpion placing it back into place. Deverik sighed and said, “Guess I got really fucked up…”
Deverik tried to pull his arm to feel the various wraps and bandages he had on. He was disoriented for a moment and freaked out a little again as he felt the restraint then calmed down once more. Scorpion saw this and undid the restraints. “You can’t leave,” Scorpion warned him then said in a more obvious tone, “You did.”
Deverik forced himself to sit up, his arms shaking a bit as he managed to get there. He felt the tubes pull but once he was up, he caught the ice pack with the un-used arm and held it to his head. He looked down at his chest and saw what he had done leaking through the bandages and sighed, “I was… Damn… I couldn’t have been that crazy…” He put the ice pack down to run his fingers over it. “It may be the concussion or some left over madness, but I think we should train in there…”
Scorpion looked into his eyes and saw the seriousness in that last statement. He thought about it and stood, “I will talk it over with Sub-Zero.”
He was about to leave when Deverik struck his hand out and grabbed his wrist. The arm was shaking and Scorpion turned as Deverik said, “Please master… It can wait for now. I don’t want to be alone.”
Scorpion sighed and pulled up a chair to the side of the bed, he sighed and said, “Wimp.” This only made Deverik smile, Scorpion even saw it as his bond with his student by now. He’d wait until Deverik slept to leave and tell Sub-Zero. When he awoke, he was surrounded by elders. This startled him a bit but he was able to compose himself. He noticed he no longer had the blood drip and the bag of saline was almost empty. He felt a bit stronger and looked across them as Scorpion said to him, “I told Sub-Zero and they now wish to hear your reasoning.”
Deverik looked at each of the elders and said, “I believe that by training in the chaos realm, we can create warriors that are not just physically strong, but strong of the mind.”
“Scorpion said you had gone berserk there and he found you bathing in your own blood,” Sub-Zero spoke as the other elders seemed to converse about it.
“Yes,” Deverik said, “I went insane and carved into my own flesh. I was weak of the mind when I entered and you had warned me so. I believe I came out stronger, madness leaving and unable to bite at my heels. I can still feel it stalking but I promise you on my life that I am sane and capable of returning to my post as soon as I am physically capable. I believe that in multiples or even a longer time spent there can help the mind avert from the chaos and remain stable, making the mind better as a warrior once returned from there.”
The elders nodded in agreement but one decided that this word was not enough. One of the Elders asked, “Why should we take the word of this raving lunatic?”
One of the others thought and said, “Yes, he isn’t even human.”
“But he is one of us,” Sub-Zero argued to them, “He has been raised from the age of ten as a Lin Kuei. That makes us his family and him just as human as we are. He acts like us, walks like us, talks like us, is just as vulnerable and even seeks forgiveness after mistakes just as anyone else would. He seems of his right mind, he has spoken to me every single day for guidance since he was abandoned here.”
Some of the elders beginning to question backed off as he defended him. One of the ones firmly against said, “Perhaps you are too soft on him.”
Sub-Zero was not going to take such an insult but Scorpion stood for him, “You dare insult him? He didn’t even spend as much time with him as he did with me. I am his master and I can assure you that no one is soft and no one is crazy.” Scorpion backed off then and waited.
Sub-Zero smiled at him and then said, “I am willing to attempt this route. If it proves just as successful as it has with Soul, then we will keep it. He will teach on this route.” He let the others leave then went up to Soul as he said, “You are entirely sure on this?”
Deverik nodded and said, “I would never lie to you. I have told you everything in my life even if you didn’t want to hear it. You know me well.” He gave Sub-Zero a smile and laid back on his bed. The saline was done and the doctor returned to take it out. Deverik clenched his fist as the needle was taken out and resisted an urge to punch. He looked back at Sub-Zero and said, “It may not be completely gone but… I hope it will fade… Most of it did.”
Sub-Zero placed a hand on his shoulder and said, “Scorpion will be keeping an eye on you. If you have a mental relapse, he will make sure you harm no one.” He stood up as he went out the door, Scorpion coming back in as Deverik tried to throw the ice pack away again.
Scorpion handed it back to him and help walk him home, being greeted by his love with little Night in her arms. The other two were in cribs and sleeping, Deverik smiling as he kissed Cicle on the lips and said, “I had quite the experience…”
Cicle slapped him across the face and said, “Don’t you ever cut yourself again.”
“B-“
“No excuses,” Cicle smirked as she interrupted him. “No matter what happens I never want you to go there again.”
“Well, uh,” Deverik stumbled for words. “About that…”
“What?” Cicle asked.
“They want me to start taking groups there and for me to teach them,” Deverik looked down, trying to not look her in the eyes. Cicle glared at him and made him hold Night as she marched off. “Hun, where are you going?”
Cicle turned and said, “I am going to give Sub-Zero a piece of my mind!”
Deverik sighed and said, “Fuck…” He went and placed on baby carriers, placing Night in on his back and Dread with Terror on his front. He ran after her then but tried to keep an even pace to not wake the babies. He arrived just in time to see her smack Sub-Zero on the face.
“You want to send him back out there after what happened?!” She yelled at him. The babies on Deverik woke up and gave him away. She snapped her head over to him and went to go coddle them.
Sub-Zero rubbed where he was slapped and said, “He said he can handle it, so what is the issue? He doesn’t need to do anything until he is in better condition.”
Cicle held and rocked Terror, glaring at Sub-Zero, “You call self-harm and laying in his own blood as handling it?”
Deverik let Sub-Zero take Dread, him getting rocked. Deverik held Night and rocked him as he said, “Cicle, listen. I had a concussion before I went in there. My mind was weak and now it’s stronger than it has ever been. Please don’t be mad at him it was my idea.”
Cicle turned her glare to Deverik and the look changed to one of concern. “You do realize… That means you will have to eventually expose the children to this…”
Deverik nodded and said, “I know. They will be the strongest. It has been promised and it will be so. I put my faith in my method, you, and the entirety of the Lin Kuei.” He heard Night stop crying and smiled. He held him close and said, “Yeah, all three of you will be.”
Sub-Zero was proud in his words and looked at the silenced Dread in his arms. Cicle even seemed happy, Terror silencing himself as well. Then Scorpion walked in and gave Deverik a stern look as he handed him the ice pack he’d left at home. Deverik grunted and grabbed the ice pack and just sat it on his head instead of holding it to his forehead. It slipped off and the infant grabbed it and held it to himself. Deverik tried to take the ice pack from Night but he wouldn’t let go of it. He gently tugged it out of his hands and the infant started whimpering. He just let Night keep it then. Scorpion smirked a bit and said, “Looks like he likes ice.”
“Better than souls,” Deverik smiled and held Night close, trying to keep him warm while he was holding the ice pack. Deverik tried to hand Night to Scorpion, him refusing. Deverik smirked and said, “Just hold him for a little.” He tried again and Scorpion refused again. “Wimp.”
“Says the one who fainted,” Scorpion decided to argue back, Night getting slipped into his arms and him now holding him.
Deverik smirked and said, “Got you to hold him.” He gently took Dread from Sub-Zero and said, “I apologize for her. She left the hut before she heard everything.”
Cicle blushed as Sub-Zero seemed calm about it. Deverik then lead Cicle and Scorpion back to the hut and placed the babes back in the cribs. Deverik nodded to Scorpion so he could go, as a sign of thanks. The next day, he decided he was alright enough to take a handful on the adventure into Chaos Realm to train. In this grouping was Scorpion and a few of the strongest deemed warriors. They entered the Realm with caution and under Deverik’s strict instruction. Deverik felt the madness in him again and he took a deep breath, checking the others. Scorpion seemed practically fine, almost as if the madness wasn’t effecting him at all. The one male and the female warriors brought with seemed nearly unaffected, the female having more trouble than the male most likely due to age. The other male was falling victim to the madness and shaking uncontrollably as he fell to the ground screaming.
Deverik looked to Scorpion and said, “Have them sit here and meditate. I will tend to him.” Scorpion nodded and took the two to meditate. Deverik knelt down to the male and held him down as he whispered, “Calm yourself… Focus your mind…” Deverik bit his own lip as he tried to calm himself. Scorpion was starting to feel the bite of madness as he lead the others, trying to keep doing as he asked. The male and the female with Scorpion began to freak out a little bit, the female digging her nails into her palm. The male with Deverik, on the other hand, was slowly coming out of it.
He looked to them and said, “Calm yourselves. Focus and keep steady.” Deverik then went to Scorpion and whispered into his ear, “If anyone goes hostile, disable them and take them back through.” Scorpion gave him a nod, all of them fighting it through as best they could. Time jumping randomly around their small bubble of protection from that as they eventually all were of even mind. He decided then to begin running them through the stances, madness biting on his heels. Scorpion moved with him and felt perfectly fine, soothed in it even. The one male and female seemed fine, running through the steps with only little trouble. The male that had freaked out earlier was beginning to shiver again and couldn’t hardly move.
They spent enough time to go through standard training before heading back into Earth Realm. Deverik’s bandages had been a little ripped from getting grabbed by one of the ones who had gone crazy, a letter on his chest being reopened. Scorpion had a few dings himself, carrying one of the males knocked out on his shoulder. The other two had wounds that needed looked at. Sub-Zero looked at him and said, “Results?”
“Four stronger warriors and one weaker thus far,” Deverik spoke strictly, “Total results will be tallied upon recovery.”
Sub-Zero nodded and said, “I hope you make it into a five out of five. Then you may take more in.”
Deverik nodded and said, “Thank you.” He looked at Scorpion then and said, “You were bad ass.”
“I’m your master,” Scorpion spoke with confidence, “I am supposed to be ‘bad ass’.”
Deverik chuckled then went home to Cicle and the boys, kissing each of them. The pattern then continued as he did this with the group and eventually everyone. Then separate groups were made and rotated when they trained. Their children grew, nearing their tenth birthdays. Deverik began to visit Sub-Zero more frequently as his life seemed to be coming to an end soon. The children’s tenth birthday came and past and their guardian was fading. Deverik spent most of his time guarding Sub-Zero from that point, only trading with Scorpion when needed.
One day, Deverik was standing guard of him and Sub-Zero gently grasped his hand. Deverik looked back at him then knelt to his side. Sub-Zero whispered to him, “Scorpion will lead… He will be the next guardian…”
“I know,” Deverik whispered back, gripping his hand firm but not too tight.
“Keep the amulet safe…” Sub-Zero begged him.
Deverik nodded and held back tears, “I will.”
Sub-Zero took a deep breath and said, “Take me when I am gone…”
“What?” Deverik said with a stutter, “I couldn’t do that… I don’t want your soul… You will go to the heavens…” Sub-Zero smirked weakly and his lungs released his final breath, an icey blue orb poking out slowly. “No…” Deverik said as he tried to push it back in. “You can’t leave me with that order!” He kept trying to push it back in. “NO!” Scorpion came running in to see what was going on as Deverik tried to push the soul back in. “I WON’T TAKE IT! I CAN’T FOLLOW THAT ORDER!” Scorpion pulled him away and saw Deverik had the soul in his hands.
“Think Soul,” Scorpion placed his hands on his shoulders, “Would you really reject the last words of a dead man?”
Deverik shook his head no and looked at the soul. He held it close and had tears running down his face despite trying to hold them back. “I can’t…”
“You must,” Scorpion spoke and shoved Deverik’s hands to himself, essentially forcing the soul into him.
Deverik punched Scorpion in the chest before he even knew what was happening. Scorpion let him, knowing he needed a source of pacification. Deverik’s fingers began to turn blue and cold to the touch, him kneeling down in sheer pain as he just screamed. Scorpion had him bite down on a kunai to get it out. Deverik curled over to try and warm his fingers with himself, blood leaking from his gums and mouth as he bit hard enough to dent the metal. The cold was running up into his arms and he muttered through the kunai, “Why the fuck did he want me to take this?!”
Scorpion placed a hand on his back and felt even that was starting to freeze. “The hell is he doing to you…” He thought and said, “Maybe it’s a test… You can last against it…”
Deverik bit a chunk off the kunai as well as chipping his teeth, the cold was starting to consume him and he didn’t know what to do. He spat out the kunai chunk and his breath came out cold. He couldn’t move his head as his neck was freezing and he said, “If I die here… Take care of Cicle and the kids… As if you were me…”
“You will live,” Scorpion insisted. Deverik tried to move, some of the bits crackling. He started to unfreeze as he forced himself to focus on pushing the cold back. He managed to get it back onto just his arms, shivering and remained crouched over them. “I told you,” Scorpion pat his back.
Deverik jumped a bit, his flesh was sensitive from the burst of cold it just experienced. He watched as it began to sink back to just his hands, looking up at Scorpion then and saying, “You own the Lin Kuei now…” He then grunted and felt the ice coming back, him leaning into it as he tried to focus it down. “I didn’t… So much power…” He fell onto the ground and breathed deep.
Scorpion didn’t know what to do so he pulled Deverik to a fireplace, lighting it and making him sit there in front of it as he tried to control it. Deverik was breathing out the cold again, shaking his head. Scorpion looked at him and saw the string, lifting out the special thing given to him. He looked at Deverik and said, “Even if I am the guardian now… You own the Lin Kuei.”
“No,” Deverik shivered and stared at the flames as he argued. “Sub-Zero said you were…”
Scorpion looked down and said, “I am rejecting it. You have the proper item to be such. So take it. That’s also why you may be freezing to death.”
Deverik breathed out the cold once more and then said, “I can contain it… I will need armbands though… I don’t want anyone to see.”
Scorpion understood and went to go get him such. Once he was covered and stabilized, they took the body out and performed a funeral for Sub-Zero’s body. The both of them placed the body on a pier, the core of it being frozen with wood around it. Scorpion lit it on fire, it licking up the branches as it came up to eat at the corpse and attempt to melt the ice. Scorpion looked at the gathered people and spoke, “Today, we have lost a guardian of our realm… A teacher… A father… And a leader… His last words were heard by Soul… And he demanded I take the Guardianship of Earth Realm and leadership of the Lin Kuei. But we are no longer the Lin Kuei. We have been meshed for longer, we are the Shirai Kuei. And I may not lead… Soul will be your leader as I will be the guardian.”
Deverik looked at his master and a weak smile crept along his face. Looking back out, he saw the faces of his sons. He looked back at his master and said, “I will accept this. I will raise the third generation of this combination. One clan, as a family.” He felt the cold nip at him but he wouldn’t let it get to him. He looked back out to them and smiled at them, he felt at home. He then said, “Those in training, go on back to Chaos Realm, I will be there shortly.” He watched his sons take off. He walked with Scorpion back to the hut, looking around and feeling horrible.
Scorpion found the Kamidogu, carefully hiding it on his body just as Deverik had hidden the Dragon medallion on his own. He saw the look on Deverik’s face and said, “You’re still upset about the soul thing?” Deverik nodded to him while looking around. Scorpion smirked and said, “Wimp.”
Deverik smirked for a moment then lost it again, taking a deep breath. “I just can’t believe he did that right before death, he knew I am not like that,” he spoke with some hurt in his voice, “I don’t see why he’d of asked such a thing…”
“I know why,” Scorpion looked at him and waited for Deverik to look him right in the eyes, “This is why he gave you the medallion. He felt if you proved yourself loyal, that he’d grant you its true use. Take it as it is.” He then sat himself next to where Sub-Zero used to sit, he was taking it hard too but attempting to not show it.
Deverik sighed and then turned to the door, “I will let you get… comfortable… There’s training to be done…” He walked out of the door and went to the portal as he stepped through into the chaos. He trained his grouping and saw as things went on for eight more years as his youngest seemed to have disappeared in that time. He was called back to Earth Realm as a portal was opened a week or so after his forty-second birthday, a Tarkata came from Outworld and waited outside its portal. Deverik was still in full gear so the Tarkata didn’t recognize him and he said, “State your business.”
The Tarkata looked at him and said, “My dealings are not with you… I am here for Deverik… Show me the guardian…”
“I am here,” Scorpion came from out of his hut, “What is your dealings with the one called Deverik?”
The Tarkata sighed and said, “His parents are deceased, he is to come and hear the will.”
“What if he wishes not to come?” Deverik spoke up, getting a foul look from the Tarkata.
The Tarkata snarled, “Then he can lose his share…”
Deverik tried to move forward but Scorpion placed a hand in front of him. “Don’t attack him,” Scorpion knew Deverik was trying to go with him but he was not going to blow his cover as Soul. Deveik backed down and took a deep breath. Scorpion looked back at the Tarkata as he spoke, “We will retrieve him and send him to you.”
The Tarkata left, the portal closed with the satisfied answer. Deverik looked at Scorpion and said, “I can’t go there even if I wanted to. Couldn’t you have just told it I was dead?” He pushed Scorpion’s arm away and moved to go home.
“It is your claim, Soul,” Scorpion called to him. “Whether you go or not is your choice now. You may go for this one thing. Your threat of death upon return is lifted.” He watched him walk away.
Deverik went to his home and looked at his case hiding his modified armor. He placed on his OutWorld armor over his Shirai Kuei Armor with the mask hidden to head back into the OutWorld. He looked at the purple mountains and remembered things he had long wanted to forget, memories eating at him. He walked to the palace and saw other siblings gathering as well as a Tarkatan. As his siblings ran to the helmet, he followed and nabbed a piece. As he walked to head back, one of his sisters came up beside him. “You smell of Earth…” The female spoke to him.
Deverik looked at her and said, “What of it?”
“Most think you are dead…” The female repeated, “My name is Tamereth… And shit is about to start here… I need somewhere for my keeper and my people to stay when shit hits the fan… Please…” Tamereth turned to him as she begged, “Let us come with you… We can talk it over later… We don’t even need to stay where you are… Just let us have a peaceful place to take refuge…”
Deverik looked over his sister then nodded, “I can accept this. Gather them and meet here.”
Tamereth nodded and ran. Several hours later, she returned with fifty OutWorld inhabitants, all of them were families. He looked over them all and then down. Tamereth placed her hand on his arm and said, “We could never thank you enough… All we need is somewhere to call our own…”
Deverik nodded and sighed, his breath crystalizing a bit. He opened a portal and lead them through, Scorpion greeting them on the way in. He looked over the large group and said, “What is going on?”
Deverik removed the armor of his OutWorld life and flash froze them before shattering the armor. He took the piece of his father’s helmet and crushed it in his hands. He pulled up his mask and said, “OutWorld is about to delve into chaos, she wishes to protect these families by seeking refuge on Earth Realm.”
Scorpion glared at the sister and then looked at Deverik, “Do you trust her?”
Deverik thought and looked at her and the begging eyes. “If one can be saved, another may be too. Send them to Siberia, away from humans. Keep some of the males here, hidden as humans that no one would notice.”
Scorpion listened to him and nodded, “Sounds fair. Tarkata, Outworlders, Vampires, Shokan, and Zaterran then?”
“Yes,” Deverik said, “The Centauran are too obvious.”
Tamereth nodded and said, “Thank you so much…” She started on the move, females and children as well as Centauran with her to head towards Siberia.
Scorpion and Deverik got busy suiting up the men, having surgeries performed to remove extra limbs and arms blades. They made sure to cauterize everything then fit armors to them to make them blend in seamlessly to the society. No one would ever notice they were any different. Things continued to run smoothly as Kombat came near, but his other master lay in bed dying. He started to spend his time with him and a year before Kombat, the next will be done.
“Deverik,” Scorpion talked to him in private, his hand gripping onto Deverik’s collar on the armor, “I need to tell you something…”
Deverik grabbed his wrist and held his hand, preparing himself for what was to come. “Master…” His voice was a bit broken in tone, “You can tell me anything…”
“I was never the guardian…” Scorpion revealed to him, taking a deep breath to continue, “You were… That is why Sub-Zero wanted you… to take his soul… And now… I want you to take mine once I am sleeping…”
“Master… You’re asking too much of me…” Deverik shook his head.
Scorpion tried to pull him closer and said, “Have I taught you nothing…?” Deverik looked shocked. “Never… reject a dying man’s will… Guard them well…” Scorpion placed his head down then, dropping his arms as he closed his eyes. Deverik watched as his master eventually just stopped breathing. Deverik took his soul and placed it within himself.
“You may rest well with your friend… My master,” Deverik felt the warmth of his master and smiled a bit. From that point on, he trained the groupings not just for the upcoming kombat, but for the one after.

The first born female, the third in line, shunned for her gender but seeming accepted for a genetic accident upon her birth. The infant showed signs of possibly being a cryomancer, her breath often leaving her colder than the air and her skin always being cold to the touch. She was given to a Centauran named Cliffhop to be cared for, hoping his fuzzier half could stand the cold. The child grew small but not too small, her mind expansive when she was learning words at one. She figured out how to piss off her keeper.
“My name is Cliffhop,” He repeated to her, “Cliff-hop.”
“Clipclop!” She tried to repeat it back.
He rubbed his temples and let out a deep sigh. “I am CLIFFHOP and I am a CENTAURAN…”
“Clipclop centan…” She tried to mimic back to him.
He shook his head and said, “You’ll get it one day… You’re a bright little fucker.”
She giggled and he placed her onto his back, her holding on as he walked her from one place to another. He was a well-respected figure among the Centaurans, one of the eldest with his horse underside covered in long silver hairs. He had to take her to a meeting with a Shokan about five miles away, her luckily not needing to walk yet. He would drop her off in a special pen, made so she could play with the other children, but not touch them. Even if she overheard the meeting, she understood none of it. Cliffhop shook the hand of the Shokan, their issues at least pushed aside with these two distant villages. The Shokan smiled and stroked white bristles on his chin, “So, you wanted to talk about the young one?”
“Yes I did, Gemen,” Cliffhop peeked over as little Sembren was running after the children in her pen. “She’s getting powerful and quickly… I am not sure if I can stand her for much longer.” He glanced back at the Shokan Elder. “I need a saddle for her. Something that will keep me warm and her from falling off.”
Gemen leaned back and thought on this request and said, “I will see what we can do, Cliffhop. It might take a while.” He thought it through and said, “Might have to end up going to Earth Realm for such a deal…”
Cliffhop nodded and then proceeded to bow his head, “Thank you. If you know of anyone going anyway, might be better on you.” He smiled and headed to Sembren, picking her up from her pen and placing her on his back. He took off then on the five mile walk back, Sembren holding on while playing with his horse hair. This went on for another year, the Saddle finally being retrievable. With the saddle, Sembren was much more bearable.
Seven years later, Cliffhop felt he was nearing the edge of his life and was not able to stand any longer. Cute little Sembren came up to him and placed her hand on him, it was freezing cold and his fur couldn’t protect him from it. He grit his teeth and hid the pain as she said, “Pony ride?”
“I can’t Sembren…” He remained still, just breathing and trying to ignore the cold.
“Pony ride…” She sounded mad and the cold grew worse, his fur was crystalizing where she was touching and his skin turning black. “Now…”
“I can’t…” He made an audible sound of being in pain. “Please stop….”
“PONY RIDE NOW!” She screamed at him, ice emitting from her hands and freezing him solid as it spread down off of him and etched out uncontrollably. The ice went out over half of the realm and froze everything in its path solid. She looked around and her breath swirled in front of her face. Then looked back at her keeper. She got up onto him, only fracturing the ice and making him fall apart and she looked down. “Damn it…”
She then walked alone on the ice, trying to find her way back to the palace. She was greeting half way back by forces that were sent to investigate the sudden cold. She looked across them and said, “What do you fuckers want?! GOT A PONY?!”
A Shokan moved his way to the front of the group and knelt down to her, saying, “Come here. My name is Forem and I can take you to a pony, alright?”
Sembren looked at him with a sneer and said, “Fuck that… Bring pony here or you will all die…” She glared at them. They all backed off but hesitated in leaving, fear showing of her. “Guess I need to just have fun with you all…” She threw her hand out and the ice threw out over the army sent to retrieve her, walking into the midst of the frozen warriors and pushing over each of their frozen corpses as she watched them collapse into nothing. She then continued her journey to try and find the palace.
She never really got the luck of finding it, wandering aimlessly through OutWorld. She had to raise herself and would practice on things around her as she figured out how to control her abilities on her own. She would freeze things and figure out how to freeze things into rainbows. She took a deep inner training as her mind stayed that of the bratty child. Years passed and she still could barely stand any company and was requested to the palace. She followed and was greeted by an onslaught of siblings that she had no clue that she had.
The will was announced and with the others, she nabbed a piece of the helmet. She then went back to her own little piece of Outworld, knowing that now war would break out. She brought those that she scared into following her come with her. She was the most feared sibling and was giddy about it. She was a threat up until she was called into Kombat. She was more than giddy to prove herself and entered the portal.
Sembren leaped in through her portal and started skipping around and giggling. It’d been a while since she’d seen these siblings of hers and she was more than excited to attempt to kill them all. She silenced as a command to be silent was given by this lizard through their minds. She then heard to kill. Sembren took to skipping at the kill command, her mind letting her take a hop back afterwards as she wanted to simply see the torture. She was giddy when the message was heard and chills ran up and down her spine.
Terror watched them all start to run away so he ran and did a spinning back fist in a full circle and as he came out of the motion a solid orb fired right off aiming for the right ass cheek of the Khan who dared threaten him with rape. This blast was nowhere near enough energy to cause true harm but this ball would cause permanent damage to the outer layer of skin that would slowly peel away. He wanted her ass to hurt for her words so that she would speak more serious next time. Terror then caught sight of the one with the whip and he smirked making sure to track her tracks quickly so he could follow her next. Terror then straitened himself as he yelled to the sibling who had shot at him” oh poor child cannot deal with a little cold air for a few minutes, it’s all I would need to peel your flesh from bone”. He returned to the epicenter of the storm as he calmed it, the snow on the ground would eat at any heat and begin to lower the temperature, his skin already had a black shine to it but he was immune to his own abilities this was another of his powers. He watched the last one begin to cart wheel towards and he stood shocked as she said it was more comfortable. He stood in his fighting style of tiger then her rainbow ice made his mouth fall open luckily it was hidden by his face mask. He screamed with pure hatred, “How can a being such as yourself dare have that power.” He closed both hands and now on top of the frozen tundra a dark fog formed at his feet and then spread out till it was behind her then domed up so they would both be blind. Terror summoned his staff then froze the fog onto each end of the staff like blades of toxin. He stood with it behind his back knelt down like he was ready to pounce.
Sembren heard the words and from her dome she said, “I was born a genetic fuck-up. That’s how~!” She sounded very happy about it and she used her dome to focus herself and lowered its temperature to something more appealing. The fog around the dome began to stick to it and freeze to the dome. It was freezing faster as she dropped the temperature and proceeded to walk forward as she moved her dome with her to where she thought he was in general. She made sure that as she moved she kept it that cold, making sure she took her time getting to him. She spoke, “Okay handsome, let’s dance.”Terror felt her growing closer even in this darkness his senses were keen and ready along with her cold being greater than his own a fact that bothered him. He did a back flip outside of the darkness and it was with this movement that he finally lost his full grip on concentration and when his feet touched the ground the black fire that once covered his skin was now burning white and his fierce scowl was a sadistic smile as he laughed out loud and spoke “god it good to be back in the world of those who made since”. He felt a heat rising up in him and he sort of enjoyed it as he reached his hand out and a tiny white flame danced across his skin and it seemed to drip from his finger tip onto the black dome of toxic gas. The dome instantly caught turning into a fireball that ate up all the fog that had not been fully frozen and it would burn at the fog as it was unfrozen like a constant accelerate that would burn hotter the more it had to feed on till the ground was scorched in a polished white circle. It was so bright that he couldn’t look at first to see if she was still alive.
Sembren could feel the un-comforting heat outside of her dome as he became warm. She began to freeze her dome and make it thicker in towards herself as all of a sudden, there was a blaze outside of her dome and made her sweat inside the ice. She froze it colder and condensed it as the explosion of white flames consumed the original outside of her dome. She took a breath when the fire stopped and felt the cold begin to set back in, letting the dome collapse as she glared at him with a light tanning now. She cackled at him as she said, “You think you’re hot shit…” She extended her arm out as ice shot from her hand towards him. If this made contact, he’d freeze up for a foot around the striking point. She threw her other hand forward as well to try and make sure she could trap him. During this she was running forward and was going to attempt to lick him on the nose.
Terror was holding out his right hand which was singed from the blast along with his arm up to the elbow but his ice quickly froze off the wound and the nerve was damaged so he felt no pain. He rubbed away the ash from the blast to reveal all but the face mask and black pants were burnt off of his flesh much like his enemy his body was fully tanned and his long platinum white hair fell over his shoulder but on the right side and not the left where the dragon crest rested on his mark which was the family crest of the house of Khan. He was standing ready with his staff in one hand and his staff now had twin white blades on each end that burnt like the white fire. He saw her send the first blast so he rolled to the side avoiding it. He then side stepped the other in time but the thing was close enough to his skin that it burnt his flesh leaving a red mark. He saw her coming closer raising her face like she was going to head but him but in his maddened state he thought she was lusting for him so he leaped forward so that she would collide with him in a lip lock unless she pulled back quickly but as he got into position he covered himself head to toe in the black ice ready for her kiss to activate his trap of his iron maiden ability.
Sembren managed to pull back before her lick would suddenly become a kiss with a firm pulling of her muscles. She back pedaled then stood firm away from him, her hearing words from the mansion. She didn’t bother listening as she made herself freezing cold as she shot out three rounds of ice at him, making sure to aim directly at him as she said, “There’s no fucking way…” After the three freezing shots were made, she began to work the dome around her again. She wasn’t taking chances, especially against kin.
Terror took in a deep breath as he heard the dragon’s words and he did not pay them mind for now as he knew that this beast was wise and would chase the others in hope to growing stronger or eliminating souls as to make it so that the Outworlders could not grow stronger. He had her to worry about so he concentrated and the air around himself began to heat up to a point beyond even the white fire once reached. He opened his eyes and the mad image in them was gone as he breathed in deeply before removing his mask and crushing it in his hand. He had a scar on the right side of his face where the mask had burnt him from the gas bomb explosion. He threw it at the first ice ball causing it to freeze the mask then he snapped his wrist and two white fireballs caught the other two ice balls and he spoke calmly “if you were planning on killing me you should have done so when I was under the effects of this realm”. He spit on the ground as he heard the white haired male speak “so that’s the birthplace of my mark, It was never explained to me but I guess it makes sense as I have dirty blood that this realm has little effect on me”. He began to circle as he grabbed his own fist and the oil needles from his iron maiden leaked all over the ground as he formed a huge circle around them and then he began to run in a zig zag pattern till he reached the icy bitch and wrapped his arms around the woman’s dome. He felt the coldness on his skin but with his new power over the white fire he kept his temperature at a level so that he would not succumb to the effects. He spoke loud enough so even the male could hear him “I am the son of Deverik the Grand Lord of the Shirai Kuei, We are the decedents of Sub-Zero and Scorpion the Masters of the art of Death, I shall fall to no being”. He swiped his arm and a spark left from his finger hitting the starting point of where he began to run and as it sparked it would become quickly clear of the mark being of a huge scorpion with tribal markings about it”. He would wait till the heat rose to a point where the ice melted enough so he could reach in and grasp her body leaning her against his warm flesh speaking in a voice filled with sadness something only his victims ever heard” I wish not to take a life but yours stands before my quest to bring peace by removing the taint on all of existence, I now know of the darkness in my own soul and I to will one day join you in Netherealm, Find the elders of our clans and walk in glory of those who have fallen before us”. He crushed the spine right below the brain steam right before the fires reached them both once they touched terror a hurricane shot strait up into the sky that would be able to be seen by all of Chaosrealm this was a beacon terror used when he took a life. He had a tear roll down his face as he was now holding the woman’s skeleton. He knelt as he laid the skeleton gently on the ground his opal eyes never leaving the white haired male as if to dare him to move. He rose to his feet placing both hands over the skeleton and with enough white fire as he could muster burn the skeleton out of existence till the dust was so fine it had vanished.
Vendict Kahn
Age: 47
Attitude: He feels he was cheated out of a throne that should have been his and that his siblings are all icons of betrayal. He also fights for the one he claims as his father figure.
Moves:
1. Four Blades – He can wield four blades at the same time by holding two in each hand.
2. Slice of Soul – His blades are deadly to touch, a slice from the blade can injure a person’s soul.
3. Writhe – He throws what appears to be green flames at his opponent, this flame if touched causes a pain so intense, it can be compared to organs bursting. It causes no real damage though and that’s if you get hit by half of it.
4. Coat of Arms – He covers his blades in a green flame that if the flames touch, the opponent is left in agony but no damage. If the blade cuts, the wounds will appear worse than they truly are. This can cause panic.
FATALITY: Vindictive Verdict – He coats his opponent in the green flames, letting them suffer in the sheer agony and letting them end themselves. If they don’t, he punctures them through their curled up body with all four of his blades.History
Vendict was born as the third son but the fourth child, being another welcome addition to the family to just get shoved off to the side. He had luckily been kept at least in the palace, being raised by a Shokan named Uoto who was a close underling to Reiko at the time. Vendict got to go on some very exciting adventures because of his protector taking him everywhere. He got to see training of the troops and some extermination action. He was always seeming to have fun. When he turned five, he started trying to see his father and talk to Reiko more often. With this, he found out his first sibling was a lost cause. That was one step closer to where he wanted to be. Knowing that, he tried to convince Reiko to train him.
“You’re too young,” He spoke to him and tried to hand him off to Uoto. “Stay with him until you are older.”
“But I watch everything you do!” Vendict whined and then said, “I been trying to train myself since I was… um… four!”
“That’s a year,” Reiko spoke, placing him on the ground and stepping around him to manage the troops.
“So?” Vendict followed him, half running to keep up. “I bet I know something you don’t know!”
Reiko smirked a bit and stopped to kneel down to the kid. “Oh really?” He chided him, “What do you know that I don’t know?”
Vendict smirked, happy to get to share what he’d noticed in battle as he said, “The enemy avoid attacking Uoto directly when he’s holding me. They try to aim different places. Like if he’s holding me in his right arms, they attack left.”
Reiko frowned a little, the kid did know something he hadn’t paid attention to. He stood up and looked down at him as he said, “You can train with us and fight by our sides. You mess up, it’s on your head.” Before Vendict could run to go join the others, he was grabbed by the back of the neck. “If you survive and you’re wrong… There will be consequences.”
Vendict gave a confident look and said, “I won’t be!” He was let loose and he ran to go join the training. He immediately ran to a place in the back of everyone and started to practice, watching some of them wrestle in the middle while others were practicing with swords. He was too small to even use the practice swords so he picked up four sticks, feeling comfortable holding them oddly in his hands and swinging them at a practice dummy. Some of them got a chuckle out of this. One of the more concerned went to go tell Reiko what was going on.
Sure enough he came and knelt down, catching one of the sticks as he said, “What are you doing?”
“Practicing,” Vendict said happily and tried to pull the stick from his hand.
“With four sticks?” Reiko looked at how he was holding them and then back to him.
Vendict nodded and said, “It didn’t feel right to hold one, two wouldn’t cut it. Three felt wrong but this feels right.”
Reiko chuckled a bit and said, “You’re going to break your hand.” He let go of the stick and stood up to watch.
“Nu uh!” Vendict went back to bashing the dummy with the sticks. Reiko watched with interest and a group started to gather to watch. Uoto was one of the last to know and pushed through the group to see Reiko was watching Vendict do his thing. He was tempted to pick him up but a firm hand stopped the watchful Shokan from doing so.
Reiko then had the circle step back and he took the dummy from Vendict and picked up a stick of his own to see if the kid would hold up. Vendict opened his mouth to complain but Reiko quickly stated, “You will be fighting others, so why waste your time on a dummy when you can have a real target.” He stood with the stick as if it was a sword and prepared to wait for Vendict to strike.
“Big mistake!” Vendict was all too eager for the challenge and turned to swing his sticks at Reiko, who blocked easily. Vendict got confused and determined to at least land a hit. He swung again, and Reiko blocked. This went on for about an hour before Vendict was getting frustrated. He did a jab and the stick poked into his own hand and he dropped it.
Reiko then poked him on the head with his stick and said, “I told you that you would hurt yourself…” The group dispersed and went back to training before they would feel his wrath. He knelt down and took the hand, peering up only a moment to see Uoto standing above them. “Get back to training.”
“But sir,” Uoto interjected, “He’s my responsibility.”
“No,” Reiko looked right up at him. “He has been chosen to be one of my men, he has made an adult choice and this will be sought through. He is my responsibility now.”
Uoto didn’t like that response but said, “Yes sir…” He walked to go back to training.
Reiko examined the puncture and started pulling splinters out of Vendict’s hand, making the small child cry in pain. Reiko looked right into Vendict’s eyes and said, “You have chosen to be treated as an adult. With this, you may not cry, you may not take being treated as a child, you will use adult weaponry, you will have armor, and you will not under any circumstances fall out of rank. This means listen to your superiors and work together with those of the same rank. Understood?”
Vendict whimpered and wiped away his own tears. “Yeah…”
“Wrong answer,” Reiko demanded, “Understood?”
Vendict was confused and said, “Yes… sir?”
“Say it like you mean it.”
“Yes sir.” Vendict wiped a few more tears away as the last splinter was pulled.
“Go get that wrapped and return to training,” Reiko pointed him in the correct direction as he stood. He watched Vendict take off without a word. He muttered to himself, “This is going to be a handful…”
Vendict continued to train for two years, a message being brought for an important mission regarding an elder sibling. Vendict had spent some of his training with Uoto and went with him to be the first of two to arrive before Reiko. Reiko looked at the two and then just waited. Vendict broke from the ranks and walked right up to him. Reiko looked down and didn’t seem to order him back immediately. Vendict said, “If it’s family, you can tell me. Not as a solider but as a concerned member.”
Reiko squatted down and nodded in thought. He then said to him, “One of your elder siblings is missing and the other is missing in the middle of where we need to go check out. More than likely, the throne will fall to you.” He stayed sitting to await a response from the stunned child.
Vendict shook his head and said, “How? What?!” He looked to the ground and then back up at Reiko as he said, “Then I will not be lost. I will be the best there is.” He ran back to rank and stood straight at attention.
Reiko stood up and smirked a bit at the child then saw a familiar face come up to him as he said, “Forem, where is your charge?”
“Safe,” The shokan fell into rank and stood firm. “There is a mission?”
“Yes,” Reiko spoke, “An urgent one. Half of our Realm has been frozen over and there is a possibility that Sembren Kahn was last located near the center of it. We are to search the frozen area for survivors and possibly for Sembren. If she is lost, the throne will fall to Vendict.”
“What about Deverik?” Forem interjected.
“What about him?” Reiko came forward and placed his hand on the Shokan’s throat. “You have been unable to place a body just saying he is ‘safe’. How are we to know that you, in fact, haven’t killed the young prince or kept the body somewhere for some sick fantasy?”
“I’d never!” Forem forcefully removed Reiko’s hand.
Reiko punched Forem hard enough in the chest to knock him over and said, “You know the punishments for striking a commanding officer.” He then stepped away and said, “Unfortunately, you are going to be leading the team in. Pick who you wish and get out of my sight.”
“I pick Uoto…” He spoke as he got up.
“What about me?” Vendict said as he hopped up and down. “I have to go with him!”
Forem shook his head and said, “You’re too important to risk, appearently…” He took Uoto with him and they left to gather others.
Vendict tried to take off after him but Reiko grabbed him and picked him up. “You aren’t going with them.”
“But I can-“
“Don’t talk back to a commanding officer!” Reiko placed him down and made him face him. “Listen, Shokan die all the time. You are a prince. You cannot be risked. If Uoto is gone, I will take care of you. You will be the greatest but you cannot always run off to your death.”
Vendict listened to the wording and caught something. “They aren’t coming back… are they…?”
Reiko looked at the child’s eyes and saw the tears forming. “Listen,” Reiko spoke as calmly as possible, “Everyone dies sometime… This is something you may have to deal with.” Vendict only seemed to tear up more. Reiko couldn’t treat him as a soldier for the moment, picking him up and taking him back to his own home, hearing the child sob over his shoulder. He spent the rest of that day trying to get the kid to settle down, but it was only worsened when a scout told them the entire team had been lost.
The next morning, Reiko picked the child up and said, “You can open portals.”
Vendict was half asleep and said, “wha…?”
“Focus on EarthRealm and open a portal… I need to talk to someone there,” Reiko asked him in a forcefully gently voice. A portal was opened but only sustained long enough for them to pass through into the cold where the combined grouping of Shirai Ryu and Lin Kuei were. He stepped into the guardian’s hut and placed Vendict down as he said, “There is a cryomancer wreaking havoc on OutWorld.”
“It isn’t one of ours,” Sub-Zero spoke plainly.
Reiko was a tad surprised by this and said, “I thought only your precious Lin Kuei held those adept in cryomancy.”
“Apparently not,” Sub-Zero said then opened a portal behind Reiko as he said, “Leave… Now.”
Reiko nodded and picked up Vendict, turning and heading through the portal and taking Vendict to training. It was clear the child was not into it and was not having any drive to complete his training. Reiko decided to stop being so nice and treat him more like a soldier. “Pick up the pace and watch your strikes.”
“Yes sir,” Vendict fought through his trouble and tried to make more precise strikes.
He was raised under this method, training under Reiko directly. This gave him an advantage as Reiko made him progress. When Vendict reached age ten, he began using true training swords. They were too big for how he held his blades but continued to use them that way anyways. He progressed greatly and learned of magic he could do. He was able to train with Reiko with Reiko using half his strength. There was another that had joined his trainings. He knew it was a sibling but ignored them. He rose through the ranks and became a lower general by the age of fifteen, being able to train troops and train with Reiko at full strength but not for long.
“Left face!” Vendict yelled as he watched them turn in unison. His sibling seemed completely out of place, obviously having started to turn the wrong way. He smirked and yelled, “Right face!” They all turned back forward as the sibling turned around, after seeing the grouping facing forward he turned. Vendict walked down to his brother and looked at this sibling who was five years younger than him. “Stay with the form.”
“I’m trying…” The young blonde male spoke.
“Do not speak back unless given permission to speak,” Vendict yelled at him. “RIGHT FACE!” The grouping turned and the young sibling wouldn’t turn. Vendict leaned down into his face and whispered, “I said… right… face…” The sibling turned and didn’t do so like the rest had. Vendict moved to be in front of him again and said, “You won’t ever be worth shit, Sol…” The young one punched Vendict in the face, Vendict not even flinching as he grabbed the hand after the fact then punched his sibling in the head. Sol went to the ground and Vendict stood over him. “You know the consequences for striking a superior officer…”
Vendict raised a hand to strike Sol again but a hand stopped him from doing so. “He is just as important as you are despite his rank,” Reiko whispered into his ear then released Vendict’s hand. Vendict went to attention and nodded. “You will only strike your brother to knock him down. The others you may inflict normal punishment.”
“Yes sir,” Vendict answered immediately. When Reiko moved away he looked down at Sol and said, “Get your ass up.”
Sol glared up at his brother and forced himself to stand. He went to attention and whispered, “I will destroy everything…”
“What was that?” Vendict leaned in. Sol head-butted him and grabbed his own sword and jabbed it at Vendict. Vendict was caught off guard with the head-butt but the sword he caught with his bare hand. He kicked Sol in the stomach and pushed him down. The men around him ran to get Reiko to break it up. Sol swung his sword at Vendict’s leg, him getting off as he pulled one of his own swords to defend. Sol got up and swung at him, Vendict blocking and pushing the blade to the side. He continued to block and only defend himself. He felt Reiko grab him to try to pull him back, one of his blocks missing as Sol’s blade cut through his armor and across his stomach. Vendict grasped there and winced, trying to lash at Sol then. Reiko pulled Vendict out of the way while the army held down Sol.
“Let me at him,” Vendict begged in pain, being carried away to Reiko’s home.
“No,” Reiko held him down on a bed in a medical room he had for private reasons. He strapped Vendict to the table and said, “Stand down…” He started to peel the armor off.
“I can’t sir…” Vendict felt the air hit his wound beyond the armor and he grit his teeth. The internals were sliding out of the hole.
Reiko shook his head and said, “I am going to give you something to bite onto and you will stand down.” He placed a piece of metal into Vendict’s mouth, him biting down on it. Reiko then pushed the organs back in as he grabbed sutures and a surgical needle. He started to stich up the side, Vendict pulled on the straps and groaned in pain. Reiko held him down and continued to stitch it shut, making sure it got fully closed. Reiko then checked on Vendict as the area bruised heavily, seeing that he’d passed out. He hooked him up with a blood bag and left him there to go deal with the other half of the problem.
When Vendict woke up, Reiko was back in the room and by his side. Vendict looked down and saw the stitching, feeling the searing pain from the wound. He then looked at Reiko and said, “Sir…”
“Don’t pull that bullshit right now,” Reiko sounded somewhat concerned. “You know what you did?”
Vendict took a deep breath and said, “I was trying to defend myself… and he got the better of me… I failed…”
“Fuck that,” Reiko said and placed a hand on his chest, “You are the heir right now. You could have gotten yourself killed. You are the most viable to take the position and most likely going to attain it.” Reiko took a deep breath. “Use your men next time.”
Vendict heard the words and smiled a bit. He chuckled as he said, “You care…” Reiko didn’t speak on that one. He instead removed his hand and sat there. Vendict lost his smile and said, “Sir… It’s alright…” Reiko looked up at him. “We’re in private… Remember when you took me away? When you let me show emotion? Your turn.”
Reiko sighed and said, “At first, I thought that our emperor shouldn’t be dropping infants to soldiers like we’re a nanny service… We’re warriors… not caretakers…” Vendict looked down a bit. “I felt like you’d be a handful and when your caretaker didn’t return… I felt responsible. You are not just a soldier, but like my own.” Vendict looked back up at him and smiled. Reiko smirked and said, “I wouldn’t change what happened. None of it. If you hadn’t of had this run in, you’d of never known.”
Vendict smiled and said, “When I get the throne… I want you to help me rule…”
“I couldn’t,” Reiko spoke firm, “I am a general and that alone.”
Vendict smirked and said, “You won’t have a choice in the matter because I will be above you.”
Reiko smirked back at him and said, “Once you’re healed, I will be sending you and a team out to train in other realms. Do not get yourself kicked out of any of them. Understood?”
Vendict nodded and that was that for many months. He kept trying to get up and would rip his stiches in an attempt to train. He kept getting it fixed but it was definitely scarring over. Once he got fully healed, he was set on his mission first to NetherRealm. Vendict stood in the front of his team, all of them got down and bowed as the guardian showed up. Vendict bowed his head and made sure it was low out of respect for the guardian. Noob looked him over and said, “State your purpose, now.”
“My men and I wish to train in a small spot away from everyone. We will not go into the towns and we will keep to ourselves.” Vendict was direct as he stood back up at attention, his men all standing back up with him.
Noob looked him over and said, “No.”
Vendict wanted to question it but took a deep breath and said, “As you wish, Guardian of the Nether.” He turned and his men headed out before him. Noob stopped him before he passed back through and Vendict looked back at him. “Yes?”
“You may train, they may not,” He said to him.
Vendict looked at the portal then back to Noob. “I will not leave my men behind.” He pulled away and walked back through and closed the portal behind himself. He then reported to Reiko.
They decided to train there, him going on missions with his own mini army under Reiko. Then one day, he returned from a mission just to be told to come to the palace. He walked in to see other siblings had gathered and he stood with them. He listened as Reiko recited the will and raced to get a piece of the helmet. He then left and took the army with him, they set up base in Reiko’s home, hoping he’d show up but he wouldn’t. He continued to train the army and kept those who stayed as his faction.Kaos Kahn

History
Kaos was named for her accident at birth. When handed to her father to be inspected, the babe freaked out and her Animality was exposed. She singed his hands with her burning blue fur and was given to go with a Centauran. She grew alongside Temala, a female Centauran that seemed to think the young cub could be useful. She would tease Kaos and teach her how to not switch at random. She taught her how to hunt, and how to be a great warrior. But the girl’s instincts of the lion began to take her over, her wanting to hunt bigger and bigger things. Kaos eventually hunted her own guardian. She had never met a single one of her siblings until she arrived for the reading of the will. She gathered the piece of the helm and instead of thinking she’d won, she gathered a grouping of those who liked to hunt. This faction she would raise just wanted to kill the other siblings, for fun.Regir Kahn

History
Domme was born during a time that could not have been more troublesome for the parents. She was rushed off with a female shokan named Nela, who took her into care grudgingly. Nela wasn’t one of the typical soldiers, but instead worked as a slave. Nela was considered higher than the tarkata but due to a defect upon her birth, the shokan was considered unbattleworthy. Domme was raised here, learning to work with Nela to gain herself. Domme, at age three, had learned to talk as those around her, but her mind was thinking bigger. She asked Nela, “Why must there be slaves?”
Nela looked at the questioning young mind and answered as she lifted a part of some of the quarry, “Here? For work. Things that no one else wants to do.” She placed the stone where it was needed and then went for another. “Supposedly… Some realms don’t have slaves.”
Domme gave her an odd look and decided to try to pick up a rock that was too big for her. She started to pull on it and drug it about an inch. She huffed and said, “Are princesses supposed to be slaves?”
Nela paused for a second and gave Domme a sad look. “No,” Nela spoke with sorrow in her voice, “Not normally…”
“Why was I put here then?” Domme tried to drag the rock again and wasn’t getting very far.
Nela pulled her stone to its place and then said, “Most likely for the same reason I was…” She moved to get another as she said, “I have a defect.”
Domme stopped trying to pull her rock and whimpered. “What’s a defect?”
“Um,” Nela looked around to make sure their keeper wasn’t watching and stopped a moment, kneeling to her, “It’s an imperfection… Something at birth that makes you not right for what you were supposed to be… “
Domme started to cry, Nela picking her up in two arms to hold her while she pulled her load. Domme didn’t understand. She tried to understand over three more years, her getting to see Nela return with a younger brother of hers one day. Domme looked at the little boy in Nela’s arms and said, “What’s his name?”
Nela smiled and said, “Zerek. He is a Kahn, just like you.”
Domme smiled and giggled, “Hi Zerek! I am your older sister! We’re slaves right now but one day we’re going to rule OutWorld! We’re put here ‘cause we have defects! That makes us special.”
This made Nela smile that she thought so highly of being different. They all grew together, Domme making it to age twelve and managing sleek muscle from how she worked, Zerek at age six and showing signs that he will develop some muscle. Nela brought home another handed to her, she showed them and they were excited. Zerek said, “A baby brother?!”
Nela nodded and said, “Yes, a baby brother.”
Domme let out a sigh and said, “Watch out, Nela, soon we’ll be out numbered.”
Nela let out a soft laugh, then spoke to them, “This is Weren. He is going to be just like us.”
“As if,” Domme crossed her arms and walked away, getting back to work as she decided to talk to the driver. “Hey,” She said as she carried her load.
The driver came and walked beside her, asking, “Yes?”
Domme placed her load where it was to go and walked back to get the next as she spoke, “My siblings and I… What are we considered?” She grabbed her next load and began to walk.
The driver thought on that answer and said, “You are children of the emperor. You can be what you wish.”
Domme stopped and stared at the driver as she said, “Then why were we put here?” The driver shrugged and Domme demanded, “Nela said we were like her, imperfect, of no use. So, are we like Nela or are we being mistreated.” The driver shrugged and Domme got back to her work, placing it down before rushing the driver. The driver snapped his whip at her and struck her down, just to make sure that she would obey. Domme tried to get back up and as the driver was about to snap his whip. Nela caught it with her arm and grabbed it, pulling it away.
“She is under my watch, you punish me,” Nela handed Domme her tiny sibling, who was crying at the time. The driver gladly obliged and began to beat Nela senseless.
Domme looked down and held her tiny brother’s body close so he couldn’t see. She ran over to get to Zerek, who was checking out the tarkata. She said, “Nela is getting beaten.”
Zerek noticed her bleeding where the whip got her and said, “Looks like you did first, what happened?”
“I… I attacked the driver,” Domme couldn’t stop staring at the ground but then stared him in the eyes, “And Nela said that because I am her responsibility that she should be beaten…”
“Are you a moron?!” Zerek yelled at her, making Weren cry worse.
Domme gently bounced the young sibling and said, “No but I asked a question and he said we didn’t need to take this then went right back to treating us this way.” Domme held her tiny brother close and said, “This will take time… But we’ll leave this life.”
They spent years, quietly gathering an army of slaves with the help of her brother. They taught their baby brother about equality and fairness, but it seemed when the two elder reached their twenties, their views were very different. Zerek walked into their small living quarters, well-toned and smelling of the tarkata he hung around with. He was twenty-one and ready to take things down. He snuck up behind Domme and kissed her on the cheek. “So, we ready to take down all of this?”
Domme blushed and smacked him with the clothes she had been folding. “More like ride on the top of it.” Her body was slender and well-toned as well, twenty-seven and seeming ready to go.
“What do you mean ride on top of it?” Zerek asked as he rubbed her shoulders. “Sounds like you’re getting ready for some cock.”
“Weren can hear you!” Domme pointed at Weren in the corner of the room, adorable still at his age of fifteen.
“He doesn’t know what I am talking about.” Zerek smacked Domme on the ass.
“He will if you keep that up,” She grabbed his crotch and got him to back off.
“If you two are going to fuck you should just do it already,” Weren butted in, putting on a shirt and heading out to get to work early.
“So,” Zerek sat on the clothes she was working with. “What do you mean, ride on top?”
“I don’t want to be a slave anymore,” She set down a shirt she was folding and looked into Zerek’s eyes. “I would rather be where I am supposed to be, as a princess.” She shoved him off the clothes and went back to folding and sorting them.
Zerek shook it off and got back up, “But what about the others?” He waved his hand at the door. “They have been trapped here like this for either their species or for stupid reasons and they shouldn’t be.”
“Someone has to do the work,” Domme argued back. “Maybe everyone has to and needs one person above them to do so. All the realms should be at my feet…”
“This isn’t you…” Zerek turned from her and began to head out. “I will be doing this revolution alone then…”
Domme flipped him off as he left then finished with the clothes. If this was needed, she should be at the top. She went out to work and refused to do her part. When the driver whipped at her she wrapped the whip around her arm and took it from them. She then snapped it back at them like a snake striking back. She ended the driver slowly and then watched as Zerek tried to rally them to rise. She got up to a high spot and yelled, “None of you are going ANYWHERE!” They all paused. “I have the whip now… I am the top and you will all bow before me!”
“Fuck that,” Zerek yelled back at her, “All of you who want freedom, follow me!” He started running, tarkata following him.
Domme screamed at him and tried to run at him, one of the tarkata turning back to attack her. Nela actually protected her and in doing so, got hit by both of them. Domme whimpered and then lashed out at the tarkata. She literally whipped them to death then knelt down at Nela’s side and grabbed her arm. “Please be okay…” She rolled Nela over with the help of Weren, the tarkata’s blade had stabbed her deep. Domme grabbed Weren and covered his eyes, tears streaming from her own. “No…” She carefully took Weren away from the corpse and released him away from there.
“She’s gone…?” Weren looked up at her, his eyes seeming filled with a dissatisfaction.
“Yeah…” Domme wiped some of her own tears away. “And Zerek has run off…” She sniffled some. “You’ll stay with me and rule… right?”
Weren looked right into her eyes and said, “No.” He walked out of the house, leaving her alone.
Domme sniffled and caught herself, walking out strong. Almost everyone but some of the drivers had gone. She gathered them and learned from them. When time came, she went to the will. She grabbed a piece and promised on it that she would rule. She then returned to her faction, training and preparing with them, making new slaves to fight for them.Sol Kahn

History
When he was born, he was handed off to a slave shokan named Nela. He was taken to her hut and shown to his older sister. They grew close together, only closer as when he was six, a younger brother was presented.
“As if,” Domme crossed her arms and walked away.
Zerek watched her walk away and shook his head. “I don’t like that attitude she getting.”
“Neither do I…” Nela spoke then headed out, still holding the baby.
Zerek sighed and looked at the insides of the hut. He wanted to make things better. It was always so dreary and he wanted to make it so they’d never have to work if they didn’t want to. He decided to go look at the tarkata and hang out with them. He felt at one with them and moved as they moved. Then Domme came up holding Weren.

One other tarkata came to him and said, “I saw him fall back… I think your sister may have killed him but… He struck a killing blow on Nela…”
Zerek looked in the tarkata’s eyes and he tried to hide how he felt. He then bit his lip until it bled, before saying, “Thank you Reneat…” He turned and walked from the group, them following as they all went into a building. It was long since abandoned but its walls seemed strong. They watched him go into a room, alone and close them out. After a few hours, Reneat went into the room and saw Zerek curled up, his knees up and his arms covering his face.
“You can mourn before us,” Reneat closed the door behind himself and took a seat next to Zerek. “We may look tough, but we have developed from our original creation.”
Zerek looked up at him with tears streaming down his face and said, “I’ve lost my family…”
Reneat hesitated, watching the boy sulk. “No,” His thoughts finally came together, “You have gained a better family.”
Zerek smiled at Reneat then and it was lost quickly. “But… now what?”
“Lead us to freedom,” Reneat stood up and went to the door waiting for him. Zerek stood and went out, ready to take this on. They trained together, lived together, and strived to make him able to be the heir. When the will came, he took his piece and returned to the tarkata. He vowed on the piece he will rule and they will be free. Since then, they have trained and captured tarkata of the enemies to make their army grow.Delmir Kahn

Upon his birth, he was given to a slave named Nela. He grew up with his two siblings and watched as their beautiful relationship slowly began to shatter. He was always in places where he shouldn’t have been and learned of what was needed. Then, the world he was coming to know began to shatter. He listened in as Domme and Zerek spoke, he was fifteen at the time. They were getting sexual and he was upset about it. “If you two are going to fuck you should just do it already,” Weren butted in, putting on a shirt and heading out to get to work early.
He got to working and did his fair share, a grouping had grown to respect him as he pulled his own weight and even some of the others. He heard his sister yelling then all the issues break out. That’s when a choice was given at the loss of their caretaker.
He strode out as the rest of who was left followed him, his grouping that he trusted. He took them away and as he got them out to a certain point, he turned to them and said, “Spread yourselves out. I will handle myself on my own.” They wanted to reject his demand but he continued, “I want you all safe… gather others when you can…. And when the time is right… We’ll all be together again…” They listened and spread out. Weren roamed on his own and trained, only finding that he would see his siblings again and some for the first time as he was called to the will. He took a piece of the helmet and as he wandered, dropped it. He trained on his own and awaited the day he could gather his group once more.Teror Kahn

Tenebrae is the thirty-seventh child of Shao Khan, a true child. She was born on the what had appeared to be the “darkest day” in Outworld. Supposedly, instead of the typical white mucus that covered her fragile baby frame was completely blood red. She had came out upside down and choking on the cord but before it could be cut off and untangled, the baby’s failing arms seemed to have unwrapped it herself. Shao Khan saw potential and strength in this, having her made a mask like his to honor her coming. Due to this supposed strength, the ones charged with caring for her until the ability to train were the Tarkata. She had a habit of grabbing their arm blades without much problem, typically not actually touching the sharp part thinking they were toys. She’d pull on them and try to make the blades bump into each other. Her enjoyment in the arm blades resulted in a nice little round of slaughter, forming blades of the Tarkata together onto a stick and shaped into a special ax through magic. It was not given to her, yet.
As she grew, her interest moved to what more was going on around her, learning more of who lived in Outworld. She explored the Saurian, the Shokan, and the Centaurian first, being attracted to their looks and abilities but not being able to mimic it. Usually, she visited there when the Tarkata that was supposed to be watching her wasn’t looking. Soon her visits grew to see the Vampires and the few Edenians who were still in Outworld. Her sparatic visits were typically un-welcomed when she went to unusual places. This was when she started her training under a pupil of Shang Tsung’s, since his time was coming to be no more. She learned from there how to steal souls and was granted her special ax. She couldn’t lift it too well but she made sure to learn how to.
Her Tarkata nannies couldn’t have had a harder time after she was given that ax, her always picking it up and using her body to swing it since she couldn’t quite lift it yet. She was getting stronger and faster with it every day and when the time came, Shao Khan allowed her to learn from him. She modified his moves with his hammer to her axe, building in muscle and stature each day. With a few growth spurts, she became the one expected to be the tallest of her siblings as she neared her father’s height rapidly.
The usual turmoil of Outworld became far more severe at her eleventh year of life as the announced death of Shao Khan shook the realm. Her nanny told her that he had left somewhere in the realm a special item, no one knows what, that if they were to take it they will rule. Assuming that it was his helmet, nearly all of the siblings hopped on it while it was still on his cold corpse. Tenebrae ended up with the skull front where her siblings ended up with various other pieces, her nanny seeing it fit she wear the front of the helmet proudly. Her nanny had returned only to speak of war to them and wanted to be sure Tenebrae would be safe and the one to rule. Naturally, those who had enjoyed her company from Tarkata, Shokan, Saurian, and Centurian along with a few Outworlders who respected her.
Her faction took up a section of land that contained the brewery, her turning to drinking to ease her own tensions. She had to train herself how to keep on her guard even while she was drop dead drunk, often returning from battle with her siblings with wounds and scars until she had mastered doing so. Her numbers seem to not dwindle much as she figured the key to making Tarkata, giving her a nearly endless army though it takes her time to rebuild. She tends to only let those who want to fight to fight, training those who stayed behind so they could defend if they needed to. She was chosen to compete in kombat at age eighteen and the war still rages on, though she appears to be at or maybe even an inch taller than her father was. She carries with her an ax, and her knowledge.Partner
Name: Toron Serlin
Age: 36 (When sent to netherrealm. Truely 46)
Realm: Netherrealm (Fights for Outworld)
Lineage: Motaro & One of the transportation dragons of Outworld
Appearance:
Attitude: He is a serious and fierce warrior who despite his new living arrangements is loyal still to Outworld. He is known for saying “I would die a thousand times just to assure Outworld conquers all.” He is loyal to Tenebrae, seeing her as the “chosen leader” since Shao Khan spent so much time preparing her during her first eight years. He did not get to see the result but is fiercely loyal to her and Outworld. He believe no one should ride him, except her. He has a twisted sense of honor and wants Outworld to succeed.
Moves:
1. Bull Charge – He charges his opponent with his head up so the points of his horns are facing them. He tries to impale his opponent at the most and at the least knock them back.
2. Devour to hell – If an article happens to go between the teeth where his stomach once was, the teeth will extend suddenly and remove whatever goes into it and fire will sputter up through his body to dissolve the body part. This will make him capable of gaining some form of boost depending on what the item is and how much is consumed.
3. Anti-Magic Twin Blades – His blades are NOT going to deflect magic, but he carries a single property from Netherrealm of draining magic through cuts of his blades. The magic gathered in the blades allows the blades to cover themselves in fires from Neatherrealm.
4. Nether Breath – His body will begin to sputter flames as the flames focus up into his top mouth and spew out in a fine cone. When the flames hit something, they will sputter back from their point of contact. He cannot be burned by his own flames.
5. Body of Hell – He will make controlled flames cover his body, allowing him to carry his partner if he wished. This is mostly a protection tactic and was told by Tenebrae that it “Looks badass”.
6. Twin flame strike – When the blades are ignited by him or Netherrealm, he can move them swiftly to stab in from the sides and perform varying slashes. Due to his lack of musculature and skin, he can move at odd angles. This can also be performed with his fists if his blades aren’t available.
Finisher – He will get up on top of his opponent and stab his blades into their chest or back, pulling them in close as a fire burns up through his system. He releases the fire from both mouths at close range and makes sure the entire body turns to ashes.
History:
He loyally served Shao Khan and had lead several attacks in his name. His enjoy in the bloodshed lead to even killing other Outworlders to a point he had to be apprehended. This was a difficult task. He hid among his own kind and others and received visits from a young Tenebrae during his life. He shared with her how he felt he was right in what he was doing, killing traitors and killing in the name of Outworld. He was then apprehended on one trip by the Tarkata looking after her.
He was taken in chains to Shao Khan and when asked, “Why have you killed our soldiers?” His response was, “They were traitors in Outworld for speaking of you wrong. Powerful or not, they did not deserve you. Now, even you are a traitor to yourself.”
He was killed for his insolence and ended up in Netherrealm, where he still believed firmly that he did not deserve his punishment for doing what he thought was right. He used the torture as a form of training, hoping to see the young one he had met to see if his words reached her so young.

Bell’uomo let the limo drive in pure silence to the airport. As the car came to a stop, he got himself out of the car and only flicked his eyes to the opened trunk. The limo driver got out of the front to deal with it but Bell’uomo waved him back into the car, he only had one piece of lugage and he was keen on carrying it himself. He pulled a pet crate out containing a large dog inside, heard growling from within. He also pulled out a breifcase, small enough for him to carry onto the plane. He looked around and saw people staring, one woman’s child wanted to come over and see the puppy. “Mommy mommy! He has a puppy!” He watched her struggle to pull away from her mother and managing to come up to the crate, looking up at the man ignoring the scars on his face as she said, “Mr can I see your puppy?”
He smirked a bit and said, “Does your mama approve?” He tried hard for his accent not to show, though he rushed the word ‘mama’ out of habit.
The mother rushed over and said, “Sorry sir! She just loves animals of all kinds and if she could?”
Bell’uomo smiled a little and unhooked the cage a bit, “He is a little friendly.” He let the cage open and the large wolf inside sprung out at the small girl, knocking her over. The mother was about to grab her little girl in fear but the situation calmed as the little girl laughed at the large floppy tongue hitting her face. He smirked and said, “I told you he was a little friendly.”
The mother smiled and then called her little girl to get up so they could catch their plane. She pushed out from under the wolf and went with her mother, waving thanks to him with a smile. Bell’uomo looked down at his wild pooch and said, “Time to get back into the crate.” The dogs ears flopped to the side in not understanding. He sighed and said, “Entra nella cassa. (Go into the crate.)” The dog followed orders and went into his crate and waited for it to be closed. He locked the crate and began heading for the counters since he’d already checked in online the day before. He just needed to check his cute ‘puppy’ on board.
