She opens her mouth and raises a finger to argue. “…True.” She giggles, “Let’s go you love birds, let’s all have fun!”

“Eww, go get a room,” Vlora teases while wrinkling her nose and giggling.

Vlora squeals with excitement. “Oh, this is gonna be so much fun!”

“Blaze come with us! You can’t stay here while everyone else is having fun.” She says turning in his direction.

“Well, someone did buy me cookies last night, but that’s beside the point. We’re going ice skating!”

Vlora’s face lights up and she tries to contain her happiness. “Yay! This’ll be so fun! I’ve never been ice skating before!” She jumps up and down like a child.

“Oh, come on Jax,” she said pleading, “could you try to ignore them? It might work!” She says with optimism. “It would be fun and you know it!”

Vanessa’s face turns red and she looks down. “I came from the other side of the country.”

“Alright.” She walks up to him.

“I actually know how to longboard,” she looks up at the boy.

“I-I’m fine with either one.” She turns around to face him.

“I’ve only been here a week.. so I have no idea what there is..”
