I think it would be neat (and allow more plot) if it was a walled, guarded human city with just a few entrances, designed to keep abnormal beings out. Like, magic, shifting, supernatural powers and of course being a dragon or something, would all lead to you being hunted down by the ruthless military and publicly executed. So anyone unusual would have to be very careful and sneaky
I dunno. Just an idea.
A central trade town with a ton of ports and trains and stuff would also be cool since beings from all over could meet.

H: *comes to a bubbling pond, there’s a dry patch in the middle, there’s a child sitting on the small island, at least that’s what it looks like, I move closer to the edge of the pond and push back the reeds to see better.* excuse me? are you alright?…. Hello? *the figure shifts slightly, moaning* hello…? *I drew my fire and ice swords and slowly wade into the murky water*

Marble Dust or Mister Marbles
The curator and main caretaker at the Maretropolitan Museum of Art. True to his name, he can often be found dusting and cleaning the museum. His cutiemark is a stone pillar, a symbol of the first time he came to appreciate ancient sculptures, at the ruins of a certain ancient castle. He’s very knowledgeable about art throughout the ages, and has a particular love for the magnificent sculptures created by the masters. The foals call him Mister Marbles. They enjoy pestering him, finding it especially funny that he looks so much like the statues he cares for. He doesn’t like foals very much, actually he’s pretty cold towards everyone for that matter. Especially when they try to touch the art.

Tossy lost interest in eating the leg of my chair and leaned up to try to reach the desk. I pushed him away just as I finished writing the lecture and stood up, snatching Samantha’s book off the table before he could get it. Goats aren’t known being able to look sad, but mine has mastered the expression. “Fine…” I go back to my bag, pull out the apple I had planned to eat for lunch, and give it to him. “Thanks Samantha, I owe you one.” I beam as I set the white notebook back on her desk.

mine was death note when i was 8. not sure i was ready for it! haha :X

“Thanks!” I gush gratefully before going back to my desk and grabbing a pencil which had only been about two thirds chewed up and copying the text as quickly as I can. “She… Has very pretty writing.” I offer, not wanting to offend Samantha or ignore Meg. It’s not easy, sitting in class with very powerful and wealthy people when you’re a very weak farm boy. “I bet it took a lot of practice. My writing always looks like chicken scratch.”

“Could I borrow your notes from last week for a few minutes?” I say nervously, but trying to keep a friendly smile. “I like your headphones.” I add, trying to win her over.

H: I’d better go then. Thanks for the gun, and, you know, saving my ass. *stands up and goes to the door, ice and fire swords ready in case he’s spotted*

H: *looks up and waves at the older girl a little awkwardly* hi, I’m Horatio.

Oh, that was Samantha. I wasn’t sure if I wanted to risk pestering her. I’d never met her but I’d heard rumors. But on the other hand, I didn’t want to lose all that information. So I held my breath and hurried up the stairs, only looking back once to be sure that Tossy was staying put. He wasn’t. “Hi!” I smile, standing next to her and tapping her on the shoulder.
-
H: *shrugs, deciding not to try and befriend her anymore, it made sense that a young girl would end up acting a little cold if she was trying to survive in this environment, probably best just to let it go and leave in the morning*
-
H: Huh. *sits down stiffly at the foot of the stairs* Want to see something cool?
