Fern sits back. “Well, Leo, why are you so…hyper?” she asks, tilting her head.
-
“Oh…” Koharu bites his lip. “Um, so, where’s your father now?”
-
Fern taps her foot. “I don’t really wanna be around a druggie. If he even does drugs.” she crosses her wings, examining Leo. “Maybe we should ask him…” her eyes narrow slightly.
-
Koharu leans on a self. He takes a quick glance and Nagisa, but turns his attention back to Fang. “Will you tell her this happened?” he asks.
-
Akio takes a moment to swallow the pills. He pulls his head back, sitting up straight. “Anything for you!” he beams. “You should be on your way now. I’m sure you have some other patients to take care of. You should know that I’ll miss you.” Akio nearly whimpers. “Carry on now,” he shoos Okarin with his hand. “Before I start crying. And that’s not something you’d want to see.” he lifts his legs up, putting them on the bed. He lays down, covering his eyes with the back of his hand.
-
Fern leans to Snidely. “Do you think something is wrong with him?” she whispers to him. She puts her feather up to Leo, she awaits Snidely’s answer.
-
“That’s good.” he nods his head at Fang. “Does your aunt know about this?”
-
Akio scans him. “I want to make sure you get sleep, okay?” he smiles, pulling his long hair back. “I enjoy your visits. You’re a good man, Doctor Okarin.” he leans forward, a little too close to Okarin’s face. He opens his mouth, his oddly white teeth gleam. He points to the pills and then his tongue.
-
“It’s better if we sit and wait for our food to come. It might come any minute now.” Fern gives Leo a smile. She crosses her legs. “Besides, there isn’t much to do in his restaurant anyway.”
-
“That’s too bad.” Akio turns away from him, tugging his arm out of Okarin’s grasp. He reaches up and his pointer finger just barely touches the window. “I’d like to go outside one day. That would be nice. Maybe right when the sun rises, during winter. That’s when eveything is still, and there’s no noise.” he walks back to his bed sitting down. “That’s why I enjoy staying up all night, when it’s quiet, so I can enjoy the silence. And once I hear noise, I fall asleep. So I can ignore the noise. The talking. The empty screams from patients.” Akio laughs a bit. “I hope I can leave this place soon…”
-
Fern shakes her head. “Only if you want to be.” she giggles, handing back his phone. “Thanks for letting me use your phone.”
-
Akio stops when Okarin holds his arm. “Aw, I lost.” he looks at Okarin’s arm. “You’re holding me! How sweet of you!” he twists  Okarin around. “We should dance away in the little moon light we have, acting as if it was the last night of our lives!”Akio stands in the moonlight, his ice-blue eyes stood out against his black hair that fell over his face slightly. “I hope you have a wife so we can make this a teensy-weensy scandalous!”

There’s some chatting behind the phone, Fern closes her eyes and takes in a deep breath. “Hey mom! I’m glad you answered!” she nods. “…Yeah…Uh-huh…I’m glad you’re home…Oh yeah, about that. I should have called the house. But I’m out in the city with Stacy…..Haha, yeah, I imainge….Of course he’s mad….Can you just tell him that I’m with Stacy. He likes her and her family, I’m sure he’ll be fine with that…..Tell him I said sorry!….Okay, bye-bye….Love you, too.” he smiles, taking the phone away from her ear. She looks at Snidely. “It was my mom, thank goodness.”
-
“No.” he grins, sitting up and stretching. He was only wearing cloth shorts and a baggy t-shirt. “You’ll have to catch me first~!” he stands up, twisting around. “And then I’ll take my medication.” he slides across the floor on his socks.
-
“Thank you.” Fern takes Snidely’s phone. “I hope they won’t be too mad.” she dials her home phone number and holds it up to her ear. She taps her foot as she waits for someone to pick up.
