Makio watches them leave before ducking his head back into his computer, resuming his work, diligently editing his photos for a few seconds before his attention was drawn from the screen to the camera on his desk. He pauses for a moment before reaching for the camera. He touches it with almost a caress before jolting up and throwing the strap around his neck and began to walk off after the other two.

Dante quickly darts into a shrub of seagrass as Vasanistis turns his attention towards him, trying to avoid his glare. As he hid in the foliage, he noticed Gully flying behind. He met her eye with an intense expression that wordlessly spoke “Cover for me!”

Caligula chuckles at the disgust in Astelis’ voice, his tail swishing in amusement, “Years ago, I might’ve said the exact same thing,” he said in a kindly voice, “At times, even I hate my routine, but I believe for the most part they’re built from necessity. After a while it sort of grows on you.” He scratches the stubble on his jaw, “‘Stockholm syndrome’ may be the word for it…” He commented with dry sarcasm.

Dante sneaked off the ship despite never being told to, curious to explore the island. He spotted the captain near the ship and froze for half a second before deciding to change course and head in the opposite direction. Perhaps being overly cautious, he tried to walk without making noise on the sand or stepping on any twigs.

Name: Dante Calabrese
Age: 16
Height: 5″10′
Race: Human
Weapon: Rapier
Looks: Dante is a fairly tall and and well-built boy especially for his age with broad shoulders and muscular arms. He’s strong yet has a fairly thin body type. His skin is tanned bronze and his shoulders are speckled with freckles. His hair is light brown color that curls softly at the end, kind of long and usually kept in a small loose ponytail that goes down to the base of his neck. He has dark brown eyes with long eyelashes. It’s hard to tell at first glance, but upon closer examination, he has a surprisingly boyish cute face.
Personality: Dante is an earnest and hardworking boy, he does whatever’s ordered of him without question for the most part and he’s loyal as a dog to his superiors. Usually out of fear for being scolded an respect, he doesn’t speak to his superiors out of turn, however to his peers and people he’s comfortable with, he’s rather kind, energetic and somewhat easily exited, however he can be rather stubborn and hotheaded at times.
Bio: Dante is an Italian boy with heritage from all over Europe. When he was too young to remember, his mother died of pneumonia during an unusually cold winter. He lived with his father in a smallish village a couple hours walk from the harbor. He and his father were metalworkers, mostly making tools and materials like nails to sell in their village or go into town to sell to the sailors, townspeople, but mostly shipbuilders. As he listened to the tales the sailors told, Dante became interested in seafaring. When he was only 14, Dante’s father was involved in an accident that disabled the use of his right arm, leaving him unable to work the forge. Dante couldn’t carry on their shop alone and the two of them were very quickly sinking into poverty, barely being able to afford food. Eventually, his father told him to stop taking care of him and leave so at least one of them would survive. Reluctantly at first, he did so and became a stowaway on a trade ship. From there, he went from harbor to harbor, working on many different ships.
Extra: He forged his sword himself in his free time back in Italy in his free time over the course of months so despite it not being made by a professional swordsmith, it’s a high-quality weapon. He can speak fluent Italian and English, although with a fairly heavy accent, and knows a touch of Greek and Spanish from spending such a long time around the Mediterranean sea. He’s also a massive lightweight when it comes to drinking.

“Hmm~ I wonder…” Theon pondered in a sing-song voice, tilting his head to the side and putting his finger against his chin in a mockingly thoughtful gesture as they swam toward island, “Do you deserve to know…?” He asked teasingly, looking back at her with a grin, “Let’s just say they’re ‘a childhood friend'”

Caligula shrugged, “I’m not one for chaos.” He said, putting his hands in his blazer pockets, “For more years than I bother to remember, I’ve lived in the same routine. Chaos and variability causes a hassle, it takes time and causes delay.” He explained, “I suppose it’s a little contradictory for someone of my profession, but in a way, a hive-mind would be more convenient”

Makio glances up briefly from his monitor, looking toward Arrenadd then briefly exchanging a glance with Shino before ducking back behind his screen, burying his face in his tablet, muttering something about not knowing anything about music.
-
Makio watches him leave with a dull stare before turning back to the printer and retrieving his prints. As he walked back to his desk, he stopped to look at the other drawings pinned on Shino’s board. He stood there for a second, holding the folder with his pictures stiffly close to his chest. “They’re good.” Makio murmured with a slightly awestruck look in his eye.

Caligula tapped the ash of the end of his cigarette and exhaled the smoke in his lungs with a sigh, “I know, any species capable of independent thought will create variable personalities.” He leaned his head against the wall and dropped the cigarette butt on the ground, snubbing it out with the heel of his shoe, “I like to think that’s why ants and bees are the only species with flawless societies…” He spoke to himself, absentmindedly scratching his beard, briefly forgetting Astellis’ existence as his brows furrowed in thought. He produced the notebook from his pocket, swiftly flipping to the back and scribbling halfway frantically in it, murmuring inaudibly to himself.

Question: Should we set our characters here, as a post in the main group or do we just rp as ourselves or something???

“Obviously this person is important, I wouldn’t travel halfway around the world for some nobody.” Theon said with a small chuckle, “It’s not like I have any plans set, I just know that if we’re going north, those are the countries that we’re gonna be passing on the way, so we’ll probably just be winging it once we get there.” He said with a shrug, “I’m not really one for itineraries and the like.” He began to swim along the dock closer to the shore, becoming aware of the pearls they collected earlier, “Anyway, we’ve been here too long, we should get these sold already.”
-
Caligula nodded, “Demons are stereotypically stubborn because more often than not they really are.” He said with a sigh, “I prefer to be as accurate as possible with my novels, it’s especially important for a piece like this. I’m somewhat of a perfectionist when it comes to my work so I prefer to do my own research anyway.” He said, taking a long drag of his cigarette, “And to be frank, I plan on dragging this out as something of a guilt-free vacation from deadlines.” He smiled dryly as he spoke.

Caligula nodded, following Astelis outside and lighting his cigarette before handing his lighter off to the angel. He took a deep inhale, eyes closed thoughtfully, contemplating his response, “Funny thing about that,” he replied, letting out the rest of the smoke with a sigh, “I came here with the intention of keeping that hidden, however it became apparent that keeping a consistent lie would become a hassle.” He took another drag of his cigarette, tapping the ash off the end, “On the other hand, telling the truth would be a hassle in its own right.” He sighed and leaned against the wall, scratching the back of his neck, “Someone will figure it out soon enough anyway…” He murmured before glancing back at Astelis, “I’m a novelist, right now I’ve been commissioned to write something of a propaganda piece, something to encourage demons to view angels more than enemies, sort of show them coexistence. I’m here on research.” As he spoke his tail wagged grumpily back and fourth, “I hate writing on commission… such a nuisance…” he grumbled, annoyed.

Theon grinned, “Well, right now, all I need to do is go to the north pole,” He said, leaning his chin on his palm, “There’s someone I need to meet up with over there. Until then, nothing else really matters. From there, I don’t really care what happens, I’ll figure something out.” He glanced back at Asona, his grin widening with glee “Still, I’m in no rush to get there, I plan on taking my sweet time when we get to France and Spain and England…” He trailed off becoming lost in his vacation plans.
