“I suppose so… All though I wouldn’t like to leave him like that after what I did to his school. How about this…” Mars took out a small black phone. “Call me on this if he says no. It’s magic, so it’ll work from insane distances. In the meantime, I’ll ride Thrackerzod and attempt to open a portal once we find the demon.” Having said this, Mars leapt out a window and landed on Thrackerzod’s back for dramatic effect, and flew off into the sky, before casting a simple spell allowing him to breathe in space. “C’mon, Thrackerzod,” Mars said, pressing a small button on the saddle. “Let’s go.” They instantly accelerated to extremely high speeds and blasted off into space.

Mars arrived at the office a little while later, Kit and Bakura in tow. He knocked briefly on the door, and opened it to see Godal inside. “Hello sir?” he said. “Bakura, Kit, and I were planning to go on an important mission, is that OK? You don’t mind, do you? I figured I’d give you the heads up before we departed on our trip, make sure it was all all right with you. Didn’t want you to suspect the worst… given the circumstances..”
-
“Sweet, sounds like a plan. And believe me, I know about trouble with souls.” Mars looked again back towards where Godal was. “We should probably ask him to get a mission, what with the recent events, he wouldn’t like us all vanishing. He might assume I kidnapped you or something” Mars looked at the others. “We should finish the tour first though. Next stop, Godal’s office! We can walk from here.” Mars walked out of the library. As he was leaving, he turned to Bakura. “If you want that book you are reading, just tell me you have it. I help run the library, I’ll file you in as having it checked out. Just make sure to return it if you do decide to take it.”
-
“Thanks, Bakura… This is important to me. Although I think you got that already.” Mars turned to Kit. “It’s up to you if you want in again, but things were left rather uncompleted last time. Let’s say we finish this up?”

“I’m not requiring you to do anything, but it might be useful to have some hands along for the second journey. I think if I push Thrackerzod, we can get there pretty quickly and open a portal from that end to get you there. From there it’s just a matter of searching. She’s on the move, as far as Stolas could tell. He reckons she’ll be traveling to a system about a light year away from Earth. If I push Thrackerzod, we could get there in a couple of days at best. Then I could teleport you guys over, and we could look for her together. An aura that strong… With all of us together we could find her quickly. Granted, I don’t want you to fight her. She could probably take advantage of things, and I don’t want to get my friends hurt. We’d probably want to get a mission cleared with Godal though, that might be tricky. At any rate, we may have to go on a trip soon… If you guys are up to it.”

Mars looked at Kit in her new form. “When… Did you learn to do this? Honestly, you look like a FUCKING UNICORN! And I mean that in the best way possible, unicorns are awesome. But… How!? Why?! When?! WHAT?! I’m so confused… Why are you turning into that? If you’re trying to spook me, it’s certainly working!” Mars’ breathing slowed to a somewhat slower rate. “Anyway… Answers, please… Is this thing safe? I don’t want you to endanger yourself for the sake of my dream…”
-
Mars looked at Kit. Kit looked at Mars. “Shit.” was all he could say.
-
“Kit… What are you doing this time?” Mars questioned. “And why in the library?”
-
“She wouldn’t dare. She knows I’m here, and she’s afraid to face me directly. With Godal at this school, she can’t risk attacking the school directly, so she attempted to kill him off. Now that that’s failed.. I don’t know what she plans. But I WANT her to attack me. She knows a direct confrontation at this time is pointless. That’s why I have to seek her out, and kill her.”
-
“The dark witch Izalith…” Mars spoke calmly but firmly, “She attempted to take over my body and nearly killed Godal. She created a black hole of of pure energy and almost destroyed the school… It’s made a lot of people tense, and not everyone believes me when I say it wasn’t me, or realizes that in the first place.”
-
“No, Tom was able to help me. He said he didn’t need it, and was happy to help…” Mars looked back towards where Godal was. “About that, there was something that happened… because of my issue with souls.”
-
Mars signaled for Bakura to follow, and followed Kit to the library. “I guess I should start explaining.” he said to Kit. “Bakura, listen close, this is a bit important. I’ve regained a lot of my memory of my past life recently. I’ve realized a lot of what happened. I’ll give you the basic run-down. An extremely powerful demon, enhanced by the power of a Lord’s soul, cursed me to live a life forever killing and taking souls of people to keep myself alive and prevent a universes destruction. The first time I died… I destroyed an entire universe, and was sentanced to walk through eternal torture… I only barely escaped. I came here in this life, and so did the demon. I need to stop her, regain her soul, take all the 6 souls and gain the power to bring my friend back to life and avenge her death. She was killed by the demon, who betrayed my trust. I attempted to keep her safe, whatever the cost, but I wasn’t strong enough.” Mars knuckles turned white on his book. “That’s why I have to stop her. I have to do this.” His eyes turned lime green, with purple mist shrouding around them, his expression darkening. His voice turned dark and menacing. “No matter the cost.”

Mars flew ahead of Bakura, sending Thrackerzod at a (relatively) leisurely speed. Thrackerzod’s puple-pink mane fluttered behind in the wind, along with Mars’ somewhat shorter black hair. He reached into his bag and pulled out a sleek black book with gold trim. Opening it, he saw the 6 vials, 5 of which were filled. He thought of his fight with the 5 owners of these Lord’s Souls. Gwyn, the Lord of Sunlight, the seawyrm Seath, and his control over water, Nito, the first of the Dead, a great angel from the heavens, and a mortal who wished to use it’s power for his own gain. Daydreaming about his 6th missing soul and the power over life and death, even for those who’s souls have faded into obscurity, he was ripped back into reality by Kit yelling at him. “Whoops, guess I kinda left her there….” Mars said. “Sorry. Guess I should explain, to both of you. Let’s head to the library.”
-
“Sounds like a good idea.” Mars took off into the sky, riding on Thrackerzod. “I sense a strong wind pushing us… towards the library. How does that sound? I go there a lot, I can show you around.. although I personally prefer my own library. Although I don’t have the variety this library has…” Mars trailed off, thinking about books. “Anyway, wanna go?”

“It’s fine, I understand. Thrackerzod here, he’s… well, he’s special in his own right. All of my animals, except Stolas, I’ve saved their lives. They are eternally grateful, and believe they are indebted to me forever. Most of the time I just let the chill though, so we’re all pretty good friends. It’s useful you know, to have the assistance of birds, owls, pegasi, mice, and so many other animals. It makes scouting a breeze. But yeah, I’m certainly used to seeing unusual creatures. Anyway, where should we go first? Seen any places that stand out to you?”
