“Hey, it’s Ludwig!” Mars said. “I remember you. We’re just playing monopoly.” Mars looked towards Aena. “You’ll have to ask her if you want to play, I’m not in charge here, although I’m sure you can if you want.” Mars sighed. “So what happened to your friend, who was it, that girl?” Mars snapped his fingers, using quantum mana condensation again to create silicon and bond it with oxygen, instantly heating it to insane temperatures to make a handful of small glass cups and a large vase. “Who want’s some drinks?” Mixing C6H8O7, C6H12O6, and some H2O plus some other ingredients, Mars created lemonade, and went on to create tea, punch, and milk. Conjuring up some cookies and setting them down, Mars took a bite out of one and drank slowly from a glass of milk. “Enjoy …” he said before biting into another cookie.

“Ehh, Alchemy, Magic, they’re practically the same thing. At least, my magic. Little bit of QMC, a little bit of mana push & pull, it’s the same concept. Just add a bottle and BAM!, alchemy.” Mars shrugged. “As for this…” he gestured to the diamond, “Just thought I’d insentivize the game a little bit.” Mars cast a spell on the diamond so that nobody could remove it until the game was over, and set it on the middle of the table, besides Rich Uncle Pennybags, providing a comical effect where it looked like he was throwing it out of the board. “But let’s get started I guess, we can talk about magic later.”

“Of all these students, Ren’s the only one…” Mars muttered under his breath. He looked at the metal man. “I’m not so bad myself, you know…” Mars said. “I practically invented my own brand of quantum mana condensation.” To accentuate this point, Mars held out his hand as nitrogen molecules in the air rushed into his hand, while his mana spliced the nitrogen molecules. Shearing off protons, Mars turned this nitrogen into carbon, releasing the hydrogen into the air with a spark as tiny flames swirls up from his hands. The hydrogen formed from his spliced protons and neutrons reacted with oxygen, evaporating into the air as H2O. Mars’ mana pressed the carbon, putting it under tremendous pressure. Within seconds, Mars was no longer holding air, now it was a small diamond, a little smaller than his fist. “How about the winner gets this?”

“I’m more of looking for a teacher, or at least someone who knows what they’re doing. I don’t exactly have time to adapt an apprentice just yet. Not while I still have things I need to do…” Mars looked around at the crowd. “But really? This one here’s a robot, I can understand not having magic there…” Mars looked towards the strange metal man. “You…. look…. ummm……” Mars sighed. “A bit too strong to be a magician.” Mars’ eyes fell back on Haru. “You however…. No outward bulging muscles, no giant sword. I could hope that you know at least some magic? Elemental prowess? Pyrokinesis? Hell, I’d even take divination if you’re into that.” Mars put two fingers to his forehead and concentrated. He closed his eyes briefly, and when he opened them they appeared to be light orange with small flecks of yellow mixed in. “Ahh, I see. So you do possess some magic.” Mars said, looking into Haru’s magical energies. His eyes returned to their normal color. “It doesn’t have to be right now, I see you’re busy, but I would really appreciate someone to discuss the subject with, if you may be so kind?” Mars suggested. “I really would be grateful.” Mars sat down. “Can I play as well?” he added, gesturing towards the top hat, which was his preferred piece when he played Monopoly. “Of course, if you don’t want me to, that’s fine as well.”

“OH FOR CRYING OUT LOUD,” Mars yelled, “DOES ANYONE IN THIS DAMN SCHOOL BESIDES ME DO MAGIC?” He looked around, realized he was shouting, and then slumped down a little. “Sorry…” he mumbled. “But jeez, nobody? We have an entire school devoted to people with special talents, and nobody else does magic?” Mars retreated back to the school, passing by a group playing monopoly. “Anyone here do magic? Wait, why am I even asking. The answer is already no. Nobody in this entire school is willing to collaborate with me here. Come on!” Mars looked again at the monopoly people. “Sorry, I’m just a little worked up.” he said. “I don’t mean any trouble.”

Mars looked quizzically at Ren, stepping to the side of him and Tony. “Hello? I’m sorry to interrupt here, I know you don’t like me much, but I think we got off to the wrong foot. I’m not really that bad of a guy once you get to know me…” Mars stuck out his hand, gesturing for a handshake. “I’m Mars. Nice to meet you!” Mars smiled. “Let’s be friends.” Mars turned to Tony while still keeping his hand out for Ren. “And we can be friends too, if you want.” Mars added.

“Awww, come on!” Mars exclaimed. “And I came all this way to find you…” He walked over to where the portal had been formed, and used his heightened visual senses to find out where the portal had led to. Quickly teleporting there and finding Ren, he rushed back to him. “I was talking to you!” Mars said to Ren. “Why did you run off?”
-
Mars, after checking the main areas of the school, decided Ren must be in the area nearby. “Well, I suppose I could…” Mars quickly turned into a falcon, and flew into the sky. Surveying the area, he found where Ren was and flew towards him. He landed in front of Ren, before transforming back into himself. “Hey, Ren, I heard you know magic.” Mars said “Would you care to talk about it? I figured, I’m a wizard, you do magic, maybe we could learn a thing or two.”

“Geez, someone’s touchy. I was just trying to apologize.” Mars dissapeared in a blink of purple, off to talk to Ren, who seemed to him a bit less mad than Takra.
-
“Well, Godal,” Mars said cautiously, “I understand your reluctance, and I also will understand if you say no. Unfortunately….” Mars closed his eyes and upon opening them, there was a brief crackling sound, and Mars’ eyes were glowing a dark orange. “I have to go. I have business to attend to. Mars strode out of the room and into the hallway. “I thought I sensed some insanely powerful mana pool around here.” Mars thought to himself. He approached one of the windows in the hallway and looked outside recalling Takra. “It glows red…. Such hatred… And I bet it’s all directed at me.” Mars closed his eyes and focused some of his mana into his eyes. The previously orange whirled and glowed underneath his eyelids, before evaporating and being replaced by an almost gold color. Looking at Takra through magical beings Mars had placed in some locations of the building, Mars observed more. “Strange…. I’m seeing another mana pool. Almost as if the mana I’m sensing isn’t his, but perhaps another form of demon inside of him….” Mars teleported to where Takra was, and saw him deep in thought. “Hello?…” Mars said to him. “I’m sorry to intrude, but I saw you out there a bit ago and you were pretty mad at me….” Mars looked temporarily towards the other girl that was next to Takra. “I just wanted to formally apologize for the incident that just happened. I think I’ve gotten an idea of what happened to make you upset” Mars continued, gesturing towards Takra’s sister. “I’ve seen a lot of innocents die because of my curse, and I’m just happy it wasn’t the case here.” Mars paused, and closed with “If there’s anything I can do to make it up to you, just tell me.”

“Sir, Godal, I don’t think you understand. Very few teachers in this school are as talented as you, and I need someone to learn from. You may not understand exactly why, but…” Mars sighed. “If I may, sir… I’m going to use some magic to show you something. Hopefully this will explain to you why I need to become stronger.” Mars approached and cautiously placed his hand on Godal’s shoulder, allowing his magical energies to flow through him and send Godal’s brain a group of memories. Mars showed Godal how the demon had killed his best friend and betrayed him, and the torturous things he had seen while wandering about the spirit realm. Mars continued to show Godal how after entering this world, he had been forced to murder countless innocent people, almost a hundred now. He showed Godal their faces of terror as he stood over them and the blood stained the floor around him. He showed Godal the intense pain he had experienced when becoming spliced between this world and another, and the massive murders he had been forced to go on when this happened when the demon took over. He showed Godal dead friends and allies, their bodies sprawled lifelessly across the floor. After he had finished showing Godal the horrors he had been forced to go through and the murder he had experienced. “I understand your reluctance after what happened, but I fear there will be nothing but more murder and sorrow if I do not find a way to stop her. And if you train me, you can find out my weaknesses so she cannot attack you with ease when I become stronger. The closer I get to that battle, the more likely it is that she will attempt to take over and have me fight you. If you train me, you would know how to take me down in a scenario like that without killing me. Otherwise, I am afraid we may play right into her hand.” With that, Mars conceded for Godal’s response, expecting that he may not understand.

“Listen, I’m sorry about the school thing, but I’ve made it clear that that was far beyond my control. But now I have Toms soul, and that won’t happen again. I came here because I have a favor to ask if you.” Just as Mars said this, he felt a tug in his mind. “Ah crap, thats Tom. I’ll be right back Godal.” With that, Mars teleported to the stone, and found himself staring at Toms body. He hastily pulled out a tome and prepared a spell for pulling Tom back to his body. He wasn’t sure if this would work, seeing as he already has Toms soul, but obviously this guy didn’t play by the rules. After a couple of minutes of searching, Mars found the essence, slowly sinking down into the depths of the earth. “Gotcha.” he said, pulling it back up to the surface. “Now, to transfuse it back into the body…” Mars quickly snatched the essence out of the air and, muttering a few magic words and a few prayers, pushed it back into Tom’s body. A blinding flash for a brief moment, followed by an intense cloud of purple. The resulting shockwave of the fusion blasted in all directions with some force and Mars was thrown back a couple of feet. When he staggered back to Tom’s body, he reached out and checked for a pulse. It was there. “Oh thank the heavens…” Mars said as he scooped up the body and teleported back up to Godals office. “As I was saying sir,” Mars continued, setting the body down gently. “I would like it if you could teach me some of the magic you know. Few people at this school seem to have as much talent at it as you do, and even less are teachers. As for him,” Mars gestured to Tom, “he’ll be fine as long as they put him in some form of infirmary. He just needs a little rest, and may experience some after-death nausea. It’s nothing to worry about though, I’ve ressurected plenty of people with no problems yet. Anyway, I would greatly appreciate your teachings if you could find the time.”

After performing the ritual, Mars awoke with a start. After the transition he had experienced deep strange dreams, of fire and destruction, of death and despair. Upon waking up, however, Mars felt renewed with great strength. “Hmmm…” he said to himself, noting it quite odd as he never usually talked to himself. “I think the next course of business is fixing the school as Godal requested, writing his paper, and perhaps talking to Godal about training me with some of his magic… But no, he would decline, saying I was unworthy. But it’s worth a shot, I suppose?” With that, Mars rushed back to the school with the tools he would need to clean up bouncing along in his bag beside him. “Ahh, man, and after this I have to write that report…” Mars said aloud again as he arrived at the school. “But now, time to work…” He lazily got out some bricks and started levitating them into place, applying the mortar to the bricks as he set them down.
About 12 hours or so of hard labor later and furious typing on Mars’ personal laptop, Mars was complete. He printed off the report, and walked up to Godal’s office with a massive stack of papers in his hands. *knock, knock* “Hello? Godal? I brought your report, and I wanted to ask a request” Mars said, as he pushed in the door. “Anyone home?”

Mars took the vial. “Ah, nice, a good blend. Nothing outstanding in terms of deep sorrow, hatred, plenty of stability. Seems pure enough, but a little bit of corrupt blended in there. Just the way I like it.” With this strange dialogue, Mars rushed away to his secret zone to perform the ritual. Arriving in the designated spot, he took a small stub of chalk and a handful of crystals in an assortment of colors. He placed a red, blue, yellow, purple, black, and white crystal forming a hexagon, and connected them with chalk. After drawing a handful of runes in various places, Mars stood in the center of the circle. “Funesta me vivere posse infundere vitae vivo cruciatum esse, cum virtute omnibus possideo sed finiatis!” Mars chanted, the stones floating around him as he removed the soul. “Cum novis me non perdam blasphemum daemonium saecularia nunc etiam homicidium est dixissent!” With this the soul floated above Mars. The red gemstone glowed first, releasing a red gas and depriving it of its color. The red cloud was siphoned into the soul, which slowly grew larger. After this, the yellow gemstone released its color in a similar fashion and was absorbed, followed by blue. After this, the three gemstones there fell to the ground and shattered, almost immediately followed by the black and white gems floating up and spinning around the soul. After depositing their energy and shattering, the spinning ball was around 2 yards in diameter, pulsating violently and shuddering. The last to go was purple, which released large tendrils of purple energy, which wrapped around and contained the pulsating orb. Finally, as all of the crystals lay shattered on the floor, the soul was siphoned into Mars’ body, who opened his eyes to have them rapidly switch from red to yellow to blue to black to white and finally purple, as green flames emitted from around them. This was the integral moment, to see if the body would accept the soul. Mars floated into the air, shuddered slightly, and fell to the floor with a *thump*, unconscious. The ritual was successful.

Not wanting to miss anything, as this was of great importance to him, Mars followed Tom to his room and waited outside for the vial. Suddenly, there was the smell of flames coming from the other room. Mars tried to open the door, but his hand was burnt by the searing doorknob. “Dammit!” he said under his breath. “I can’t cast a spell to somehow get in there…“ he thought to himself. He must be suffering some kind of magical repercussion.” Suddenly, the warmth was gone, as if it had been absorbed. Mars touched the handle, and it was cool again. Not wanting to intrude, Mars knocked on the door, and, saying a quiet “Hello?,” he waited for a response.
