Mars hears the question, and instantly slouches down. “That’s… uh… a good question,” he says, “Well, I currently DO have a soul, it’s just… kind of… not… mine.” he says awkwardly. “I’m… borrowing it, yeah that sounds good. It belonged – err, belongs, to a good friend of mine. He’s letting me borrow it for a while, until…. Well, he probably won’t want it back anytime soon. Seeing as he is kind of…. dead.” At these words, Mars broke into tears and collapsed down face-first onto Thrackerzod’s back.
-
“Me?” Mars asks. “Sure, I guess. What is it?” as he flew off on his pegasus, the others following with him and Kit.
-
“Hmm,” Mars said, looking around the area from atop Thrackerzod. “I haven’t ever been here before. Any ideas, Thrackerzod?” Thrackerzod nuzzled Mars’ hand, and gestured a hoof northeast before letting out a neigh. “Thrackerzod says we’re in around northeast Oklahoma, I guess? That’s about a 9 hour drive normally, but on pegasi, it should take us considerably shorter. We’re due north.”
-
“Hey, wait, don’t leave without me!” Mars exclaimed, rushing through the portal. “C’mon, Charlotte! You too, WRAITH!”
-
“Oh, you’re awake!” Mars exclaimed. “Go ahead and get back on your pegasus and take off, if anyone else wants to come just ask. I have plenty of pegasi. Now, through the portal?”
-
“I understand your frustration, sir, I really do. But there is no need to be afraid. Â She’s in good hands, Kit here can turn into a dragon, and I’m just about the best wizard at the school.” Mars stated, matter-of-factly. “Plus, she volunteered of her own free will. She won’t be fighting, just helping us find what we are looking for.”
-
“I mean, sure, we can use the extra firepower. He doesn’t seem that harmless to me. If he wants to join us, he’s in.” Mars said. “Just try not to do anything foolish, and remember that I’m the leader here, so when I give the order you need to follow. Other than that, your cool. Just chill and fly or whatever it is that you’re doing.”
-
“Alright, yeah, I’m well rested, and you seem ready to go. Is Charlotte ready?” Mars questioned. Suddenly, their was a loud thump as Charlotte fell to the ground, collapsing from exhaustion. “Well, that answers that. I’m sorry Charlotte, but we’ve wasted enough time. We’re gonna just have to go. You’ll ride on the back of one of the pegasi.” Mars called out to the new teacher, alerting him. “Hey, dude, if anyone comes and needs us, just whistle and the pegasi will come.” With that, he climbed onto the back of Thrackerzod and hoisted Charlotte up onto her pegasus. “She needs the rest. Let’s go.” he said.
-
Mars ponders what she said, and then realizes her implied meaning. His mind drifts off, remembering good times, and then his expression goes cold. “Well, it’s been fun gang, but I’m going to sleep. We’ve got a long drive, and we need to be at our fullest. The pegasi need to rest up as well.” Mars has a brief conversation with Charlotte, who picks out a pegasus. “Alright, see you all tomorrow.” Mars says, and flies off on Thrackerzod’s back, herd of pegasi following him.

Well, in a manner of speaking, yes,” Mars said, “Why, is there something wrong with that?”

“Oh, I guess what was rather cryptic to you all, huh? Well, necromancy is a tricky subject. First off, you need a catalyst, like my staff. Secondly you need magical power, which comes from years of training. Also, you need the body of the original creature. If all of these are present before the soul of the person sinks too far, you can bring them back to life. However, human necromancy is incredibly hard, and the more complex the creature the harder it is to reanimate. Thrackerzod here finds the recently slain Pegasi, and I bring them back. Mostly I let them chill and do whatever, but they will put their lives on the line for me because I saved them.” Exhausted from his monologue, Mars sits down and grabs a can.
-
“Sure, take them,” Mars says, “I’ve packed plenty of rations for the trip. As far as transportation is concerned…” He raised his hands to his mouth and blew them to make a sharp whistle, and soon a number if pegasi flew out of the sky. “Take your pick.” he said as they landed in front of her. “They’re all really nice. Thrackerzod keeps finding more for me to save, but…. We cant get them all before they move on to the afterlife, and I just can’t pull them back from that deep of a pit of despair.”
-
“Ah, jogging!” Mars said. “Well, I brought some refreshments.” he continued, placing the Mt Dew on a small table that randomly appeared there. “Who wants some?”
-
Mars whistled, and rode down from the clouds on Thrackerzod, magically changing into a T-shirt and track pants as he flew down. He summoned a 12 pack of soda, and yelled “GUESS WHO BROUGHT THE MOUNTAIN DEW” as he glided to the earth. He landed perfectly, and hopped of his pegasus, while he sang Fly by Night quietly in his head. “Sorry I got caught up back there, Takra wanted to know where we were headed. What’s going on here?” he said to ze german man and the new boisterous teacher.
