Mars flashed a look at Kit that said “I’ve got this” and proceeded calmly. “I understand your confusion, sir. Godal has already approved this as a mission, you can ask him if you want. We’re going to look for some things that I’ve lost in Iowa, we were just about to leave. I understand that you are a busy man, so I’ll let you get back to what it is that you were doing.” He ended this all with a bow, and stood still formally.

“Alright… that’s cool.” Mars said. “Just give me one second…” He raised a book and closed it, and with a purple flash he was gone. Reappearing in his house, he reached into the bookshelf, selected a personal favorite of his that he had had installed just the other day. He tapped it twice and pulled sharply, and the bookshelf sank into the ground. Now in his study, Mars looked around for a couple of books. He selected two yellow books, three red ones, a green one, four purples and a thick black book with the words DO NOT TOUCH on it. Not wanting to be outdone by Kit, he selected his coolest black robe, muttered an incantation and cast wings of his own, and flew off into the night. Lastly, he landed on a cloud. “Wait…” he said. Quickly summoning his staff, he flew on, slightly more content but still a bit disappointed. “Still doesn’t look as cool without Stolas.” he muttered as he rocketed back towards the cloud where Kit was.

“Of course not, why would I?” said Mars. “I think I have some magic items and potions and whatnot that could be useful for our journey. He trails off, continuing to babble on about alchemy and magic and other such stuff. “… and yeah, it should be pretty useful.” he concludes. “Meet me back here in, say, 20 minutes? Charlotte should have arrived by then, I’ll tell her what we’re doing and if she needs anything she can just fly back to her house.”
-
Mars pulls out his phone, messes around with it for a bit, and then puts it away. “Oh, hey Kit,” he says. “Charlotte is headed our way right now, she should be here soon and then we can get going. Although I might want to head to my house to find some stuff…”

“Well,” Mars says. “Me and the pegasi are going to rest. We have a long journey ahead of us.” With that, he flew off into the sky with his pegasi, to rest in the clouds.
-
“Ahh, Zanzibar!” Mars says. “Good choice, he’s very friendly. As I’m sure you noticed.” he concludes, taking note of Zanzibar’s behaviors. “He likes you!”
-
“Great!” Â Mars said, still a little confused. “Well, go ahead and pick a pegasus. I’ve got Thrackerzod here, but pick any of the ones that look good to you.”
-
Flustered, Mars responds “Uhh, good for you? What exactly did you do?”
-
“Alright, we’re gonna need transportation to Iowa, so…” Mars states, before bringing his hands to his mouth and blowing a sharp whistle. High in the sky, winged creatures appear flying down towards him. “You live in the clouds,” he says to Kit, “You make a few friends. I’m ready to go whenever you are.” Mars looks amongst the pegasi, before selecting his personal best friend out of the mix, a clear-white pegasus with a pink and purple mane. “I met these guys a long time ago. This is Thrackerzod, he’s a personal friend of mine.”
-
“Ahh. That would hurt.” Mars says. “Would you like me to try to heal it? I’m not professionally trained as a medic, but I do have some experience with healing magic. Plus, it’s not traceable like teleportation, so there’s that.”
-
“Kit!” Mars yelled, horrified by her sudden act of murder. “Come on!” He summoned his long staff from God knows where and slammed it twice into the ground. The gem on the bottom glowed crimson and a small ball of black energy formed in the triangle at the top. The earth shuddered for a brief second, and the bird rose up into the air and flew away. “Anyway,” said Mars, “What do you mean ‘flash me’? Is that some sort of magic of yours?”
-
“Oh my goodness, are you alright?” Mars exclaimed. “If the bullet’s still inside I could try to teleport the shrapnel out.”
-
Mars shrugged his shoulders. “Sorta,” he said, “Stolas has gone missing since I sent him out to Iowa to find that demon. I’m afraid something happened to him, and I’ll have to go find him.”
-
Mars turns to see Kit. “Ahh, it’s nothing. I was just expecting Stolas back, but he’s not here yet. I sent him to Iowa to scout some stuff out on where my soul might be. What made you wince?” he says, still a bit troubled but relieved to see another human who wasn’t preoccupied.
-
Mars collects himself, and finishes his work, before coming back down to the school to see if anyone wants to do anything. He looks through the sky, but finds no sign of Stolas. “Hmmm,” he thinks to himself, “Sure hope he’s okay. If he doesn’t come back soon, I’ll have to head to Iowa to look for him, and that’s way too far to go by teleportation.”
