Do you do anything characteristically human? Not even out of nostalgia?
-
We’ll find him tomorrow. Humans are much friendlier when they’ve had some sleep.
Come to think of it so am I. Tell me do you sleep at all? I know you don’t have to but still…
-
*He suddenly feels very hollow and starts playing with his cup
It’s good you can look back, more often than not… that’s the first step.
He stops playing, looks up and smiles.*
I believe you’d have tried.
-
*He stops laughing, but continues to smile*
I’m being selfish. Sorry.
It’s just a little ironic is all, I’m helping you so I don’t lose my life but I’ll probably die in doing so; that’s all I’m finding funny.
I didn’t mean to mock your past.

*Isen isn’t surprised. He isn’t surprised at all. In fact he smiles a bit. Then he begins laughing. Soon he is so loud people are staring at him.
He stops suddenly*
Oh fucking brilliant. You killed him. What kind of a fucking situation am I in
*he carries on laughing*
-
Do you have much contact with him?
*Isen notices how quiet she has become.*
You don’t have to tell me, I won’t push you.
-
*Isen sighs, his tea has gone cold in a a matter of minutes. He looks around, catching the quiet stares of the humans who are ogling at him and Ava.
Like Creatures in a Zoo
They struggle to conceal their anger and Isen can understand why. He just wished he knew why he hated them for it.
He downs the tea.*
How long have you being cold Ava?
-
*Isen orders a tea. He likes the quiet solace of tea; the way the milk patterns play through his drink. He once tried sugar but it made it too sweet, took away from the taste.*
They don’t care if we had no choice to become a Cold One, they care that we choose to turn others. That is our hypocrisy, when we are human we try our hardest to be nothing else yet when we become Cold we try our hardest to make other people like us. We force others into a life we ourselves rejected and we do so without thinking.
That’s what scares them.
The inevitability of a choice they can’t make.
-
Look around you, these people /hate/ us. They really do. We steal their children, their friends and their family, we are the monsters hiding under their beds. When we arrive we bring fear and loathing from these creatures simply for not being the same. How are we meant to gain their trust if we try and be /those/ monsters.
The more we try and retain our humanity, the less frightened they’ll be so please, sit down, order and don’t make too much of a fuss.

*Isen makes the ramp curve upwards slightly, catapulting him into the air; when he begins to fall he makes another curving ramp which flings him faster and further forwards. It isn’t long until he has passed Ava.
When they reach the town he reduces the gradient on the paths till he slows to a halt.
Time for some Dinner.*
-
*Isen leans forward, making himself streamlined, faster. Laughing at her snow horse he moves ahead*
-
*Isen stops and smiles at Ava* You want faster? *he hasn’t ever being called an old man before. He begins running and then leaps forward producing an ice path in front of him as he does so. He begins picking up speed.*
-
*Isen smiles and starts making his way towards the town, he walks neither fast nor slowly; taking his time to be a part of the world he’s passing by.*

He could be hiding in a tunnel or a cave, or it could be a trap to lure us. Either way I want to go back to town and prepare; there’s no evidence we were here so the townsfolk will still welcome us back. While we’re there we can look for Kane, Demetrius’ friend the Old Woman mentioned, and we can also try and find out more about this map and where it leads.
Before we do anything though we need to hide /her/.

He could be hiding out in a tunnel or a cave. Can you tell how far away it is?
